5ft 7"

Humm, you'd look bloody skinny but the 'dreaded' BMI would be 21.9 so ok... but you wouldn't really want to get much lower then that

Hello not sure what the rules are for this thread but I can report a 3lb weight loss at the start of my journey! Very excited!

20/05/2013 at 23:48

Hi all

I was 18 st 8 when I started running just over 8 weeks ago, after about 4 weeks people commented on the fact that I looked like I had lost weight, but I had only lost about 3 to 4 lb. I put it down to things tightening up and maybe muscle replacing fat, not sure if any of that is true......

Anyway I am now in my 9th week of a 0 2 5k schedule and my weight yesterday was 17st 9.......

21/05/2013 at 04:12

Hi Frances and Jay no rules were just here to help and encourage each other we don’t commend or ridicule i was 13st 4lbs when the thread started getting on for 3 years ago now my aim was to get down to 11st for the Brighton marathon in 2011 but have to say failed miserably to do so with the same aim again for 2012

in the October of 2012 i decided to go to weight watchers and having just run 4 H/M in 5 weeks did not expecting  to weigh what i did which was 13st 7lbs but by the time Brighton 2013 came i was down to 10st 6.5lbs a loss of just over 3st

have to say the weight loss has really help my running as this year i took 23:19 of my Brighton time coming home in 3:37:09 have set both my best ever 10k time at 46:17 and my best half marathon time at 1:43:36

so if you had a bad day feel free to have a go old moan

21/05/2013 at 05:01

well I've just started running. I'm into my 8th week. I had been going to the gym for a year and a half. I had managed to lose 12kg in that time but as I was starting from 122kg I still have a long way to go. I'm down to 108kg.

I did a 5km run a couple weeks ago and had a lot of fun. I've got a 10k race coming up in 3 weeks. I'm just going to keep upping the mileage. I'll see how the 10k run goes nd i may commit to a ten miler in the future. I have a very long term goal of getting down to sub 90kg.

Hi all,

Good idea for a thread

I've only very recently started road running, having been to the gym/classes since the beginning of the year. I have lost just over 2 Stone since the New Year, which I am pretty chuffed with  However have come to a standstill with the weightloss, think it's my body having adjusted to things now i.e healthy eating and reg. exercise

Always wanted to start running but wouldnt have been able to if I hadn't lost weight before hand....I started at 16st 7 lbs but am now 14st 6lbs. Good job I am 5ft 11ins tall so I could carry it off really....I think....maybe

Will keep you posted on how things go with the weightloss as I hope running will get it started again....yay. Will follow everyone's achievments too!

Well done holly.

i managed tI loose a lot lsat year, so know how hard it is. Sometimes as well a change is good, now your body has got used to your current diet maybe change it around, eat different gfGood for a week maybe even more food as well, the body sort of adjusts and sometimes needs kick starting again, and then you hit it with the diet again, sort of  tricking it slightly... Sounds a bit daf. I know but hey it's worth a try

well done with the 2 stone loss that's fab, and all that you can loose your body will really appreciate when you are running
