Sarnie,

I was hoping for 1hr 50.  However that was in April time.  Now I'm not bothered and just want to get round.

Running has been really important to me at the moment because I lost a friend to cancer a couple of weeks' ago.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 years ago and secondaries 2 years ago.  Because one of the cancers she had was a brain tumour I'm going to be running for the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumor Trust and have asked her partner if I can run in memory of her.  He's had a look at the justgiving page I've set up and is happy with it.  So now I've got an added incentive for my training for my 5k in September.  If anyone would like to sponsor me I can email you a link.

I've been back to the hospital for my follow up appointment today and have been discharged and been told to make sure I keep running because it's helping my lungs.  He also said that my lungs were either 90 or 99% efficient! I don't know how good this is for a runner however the breathing test results this time were better than last time.

grendal, why dont you get the time, are you doing long hours at work, hows the family,

HY4 sorry to hear about your friend, i also lost my life long best friend 4 years ago to leukemia and it completly destroyed my for a very long time, and looking back i think that s when i started running and lost myself in it, its good to see you running for a very good reason,

as for me

i am up to running 12 miles on a sunday but bloody hell its hard, i am really missing all the time i has before going full time at work to train, am working over 45 hours a week and by the time i get home the last thing i want is to go out and do a 6-7 mile run, but once i actually run i am getting the buzz again, oh and i have entered the london half marathon in october which i no info on at all, anyway must go am off for a girly weekend away, in all places amsterdam, lol it will be an eye opener if anything,

Sarnie,

Thanks.  We'll have to see how the race goes.  I saw the Great Parks race too late to enter because it sounds a great race to do.   I think it will be enough for me to get round the GSR this year.  Take it easy with trying to fit everything in.
