Ello ello, a French Vet! Oh la la!

Hope your feeling better Nogs, tooth abscesses can be a b* gger. I referred to my old molar as " old faithful" as he flared up on a regular basis. Even root canal didn't sort him. Huge relief to finally get rid. Other root canal is as right as nine pence ( touch wood )

One of my horse vets is a South African, brilliant guy, great with the horses.

I've read that honey has good healing properties. I was tempted to try some on my eyelids, sounds more soothing than the other suggestion of baby shampoo!

Hello gawjuss people.

Just popping in to say a Secret Santa pressie arrived at FP Villas this weeks.  So thank you very much RW Santa.  I won't be opening it until Christmas Day so that I have something to look forward to.  By the weight of the box though I think it is bubble wrap so I will be on the bubbly on the day and still able to drive, lol.

Looking up at this page I see Sir Noggy isn't very well.  Hope you are feeling better quickly.  You dinner sounds quite posh!  I'm out too but it will be cheap sausage rolls etc at the buffet I'm going to.

Podds, hope your outing is good too. Posh? or cheapo? or somewhere between?

Hello Stranger

Middling venue - local hotel (Ramsgate) on the harbour for the running club christmas dinner Lovely venue in the summer overlooking the harbour (it is a Royal port) but won't be quite so scenic tonight I suspect!

What's your occasion?

~~((DL))~~ sterkte!

~~~C1~~~ I hope that she is soon home safe and sound. Chuggy, I am watching some of the border contol TV programs and it seems that 'Contact' is the latest big thing to smuggle as it is used to make crystal meth .
Great news about Snailymum, but less so about Snaunty. Poor lady, imagine being tube fed for 6 months!
(((Noggy))) I do hope that you will soon be on the mend.
FP, it made me larf to think of you getting a parcel full of bubblewrap for your secret Santa - I often put a piece in SB's Christmas stocking .
(((DG))) at least it gives Podds an excuse to visit Viktor though .
(((Spence))), I agree with XB, it is high time you got that looked at
XB, it is good to hear that you are able to start getting out there again.
It is cold and wet here, no sign of the white stuff, thank dog. I am paying for having been out and about both Wednesday and yesterday - which is a good excuse for spening the day under the duvet .
WAIST well xxx
Tonight is a buffet party for a disabled group that a couple of friends are involved in.  It was an offshoot of the one I do the bike ride for but it is now separate to them.  Wednesday night I went out with ex-colleagues for our annual Christmas get together.  Lovely night catching up and really nice food too.  Tomorrow I am meeting comping (competition enterers) people for a Christmas gathering and a bit of a party and Sunday I am on the Christmas coach ramble to Settle.  Hopefully a nice walk then a sit down meal in a place called Falcon Manor.(XB will know it).  Then last do is with some colleagues on Wednesday (refreshments, choir and Linda Bellingham as far as I know).
The harbour sounds good but might be a tad blowy at this time of the year?
Hello Tubs.  Missed you there. How are you?
Dl, you've a whole week....relax until 13th then PANIC!
07/12/2012 at 16:17
Hello Sluggie, I missed your post there too.  Bubblewrap is funny stuff but it has to be the little bubbles to pop not the big ones.  Not nearly as satisfying!
We had sleet last night and a big freeze and black ice here this morning.  Woodburner is doing it's job in our living room and stepson is looking for one to put in 'his' conservatory.  We bought it on Ebay and it was meant for him to use as a home office  but he's only used it a couple of times so far.
Blimey, just seen on the news that the poor nurse who was tricked into giving info about the Duchess of Cambridge has been found dead.
Doesn't seem quite so funny now.
Gosh everyone out tonight!?
Dreadful about that nurse.
Had A great evening nice meal and then upstairs to a Tom Jones tribute that just happened to be on Q dancing and general merriment!! our new teacher (25) didn't quite know what to make of it only having seen TJ on The Voice!!
I mean this girl was born AFTER Elvis died!!? How can that be possible!!!
Despite being foul weather and a tired Podds it turned out to be a lovely evening and my gentleman escort got me home in true Cinderella style just before midnight
Will take me a while to sleep I suspect despite a couple of large glasses of wine so will be tired tomorrow if the boys insist on getting up at 6am as usual
Sweet dreams all bar Melds - if it's any consolation Melds Ramsgate was strangely quiet for a Friday night due to the weather so maybe you'll get lucky too!
Morning each,
My dinner out with Herself and staff went well, good fun and everyone on good behaviour.
Today I'll be with GD whilst she sings and dances and rehearses her way through the day.
Coffee is on.
Definitely sobering news, Nogs. Wonder how the Australian journalists who did it are feeling.
As Tubs said, teeth hurt. They and ears are the worst kind of pain, I think, cos you can't touch it at all. Hope the antiB's do their stuff quickly.
Tubs. LOL at your description of your molar, but I know what you mean. Sounds like your eyelids are STILL sore, though----surely that can't be right??
Snaily, hooray for your mum! Really hope she gets into her new home quickly now---I'm sure there will be a lot of adaptations, but she will be just so happy to get out of hozzie! NOT such good news about Snaunty, though. Of course I don't know enough about the medical side to judge, but this has gone on for so long, with so many repeats, that I really wonder if there isn't some significant negligence in her care?
Lots of WAISters seem to be out partying tonight----Podds, Spence, FP----hope the food and drink are good and the weather behaves!
As FP says, you still have a week in hand, it's too early to panic yet  In the meantime you can practice your French accent so you can communicate with your vet!
And speaking of FP, how good to see you!! You sound amazingly busy, but it all sounds like fab stuff so enjoy yourself----and don't be a stranger around here, OK?
Sluggie, after two very active days it's probably not surprising that you're feeling the effects, but it really isn't fair, is it? Roll on that subcutaneous pain control thing!
Well, C1 is here, after the trip from hell: she was travelling for 40 hours solid! Melbourne to Singapore (not Hong Kong, I was wrong) was fine, and Singapore to London, but then it all went wrong. The 0730 flight to Amsterdam was cancelled due to snow. She was on stand-by for a 12.30 flight but didn't get on. So she waited til 1530, where she had a confirmed place. When she got to the gate they said she hadn't checked in (she had) and they had no place for her. She burst into tears and said she had a confirmed place, she had discussed this with every frigging BA employee in the place over the last 9 hours and she was getting on that plane. Wisely, they got her on. They then sat on the tarmac for another hour and a half, and she finally landed at 1800. We waited for her to come out, and waited, and waited. Although they had assured her her luggage was on board, it wasn't. So we got home about 1945, the three of us having stood at the arrival gate for 2-1/2 hours and C1 having taken 10 hours longer than she expected to get here. Her luggage will hopefully be delivered tomorrow. She is VERY glad to be home (she's asleep now) and we are glad she's here!!!
Sorry, thought I posted that last night, but it didn't go for some reason.
Great to hear that all parties were successful.  At this time of year they're either great or they're really awful.
Podds, I hardly dare think it, but maybe the boys slept in a bit this morning? No harm in hoping...
Nogs, have a lovely day with the GD. You are doing so much good for her, without you and HL her life would be really different. Hats off to you both.
C1 feeling much better after about 12 hours of sleep. And they have found her luggage and are bringing it later today. Now going to get my hair cut. I HATE driving on ice, and it's hard frozen here after rain and snow yesterday so the noble Mr C is going to take me and he and C1 will have a coffee while I get my hair cut. We know how to live here, eh?
WAISt well, all xxxx
08/12/2012 at 08:10
Holds cup out for a coffee, mmmmmmm!
Sounds like a good night was had by all revellers.  The one I went to was mostly full of people with special needs.  Great fun as they have no prejudices and dance for the hell of it.  They aren't up there to impress anyone or have any other agenda.  Only downside was a fire alarm and we were upstairs in a club function room.  Lift couldn't be used and there were a few with mobility problems and one guy in a wheelchair.  The club had no Evac chair! Naughty!!!
08/12/2012 at 08:18
Whoops, missed you there Chuggy.  Typical that everything went right for C1 until she got to England!  Good at transport aren't we, not!  Good to hear she can relax at home at last though.
08/12/2012 at 08:23
Poor C1 what a journey!
Dancing has not helped my leg one little bit. It's shaken out a cold though!
I need to get up but cba, anyone got the kettle on!?
08/12/2012 at 08:25
Not yet Spence, I'm still in bed! need to get a shift on though, flute core and cake this morning then maybe the last of the Christmas shopping
