Nah I cant imagine Chuggs not being charitable either, bet when she gets back in here she'll have had a wonderful time

Spence that is such a great thing to do for the 6 kid family, bet your feeling all

DWP sorted thank goodness, now the home mum is going in temporary until the house is sorted, is "free" for 4 weeks after that she has to pay for the bed.  I'm so bloody annoyed this hasnt been mentioned to us before, mum is on low income benefits, how the hell is she supposed to pay for a bed   I've told her not to get upset, I'll have her out and in her home before then.  Talk about additional pressure for her, the council are going to get it tomorrow i can tell you.  I already have the movers booked so they better get on and sort the bloody property.

Evening all

A slightly testing day ....

Anyroad, I took all the wrong order back to The Body Shop, very helpful manager who I saw and agreed what a complete DIS-AS-TER it was, she sorted it out for me and I got most of the items that I wanted back, she said they had had emails instore asking why they were not doing good business et.c et.c and all the items I had brought on line were offered at half price ... she did tell me I would have been better off to havejust exchanged the items that they had sent me as the value of the wrong order was over £75
Good job I am honest eh?     I have no doubt I will get my reward somewhere

Bit tired so its an early night for me

19/12/2012 at 21:23

early night here too, was going to iron, but CBH, so going to snuggle in bed with a book

19/12/2012 at 21:24

CBH?????  what I meant was CBA, see how tired I am!

I've been to watch my friends son in a jazz concert, normally those things are painful enough when it's your own children and to be avoided at all costs if they're not!! But it was actually very good!

Body Shop are lucky you're honest Meldy!
Hope your mum is sorted soon Snaily

((Snaily and snaily mum))) stupid DWP - those homes are uber expensive and I would imagine completely out the reach of anyone without a good income or significant savings.

oh DL, Snaily is right, I cant wait for the kitten's tree adventures

(((chuggy))) blimey, must be bad if you're feeling the strain of Santa's little helper.

Hope you get the chainsaw fixed efore Christmas day as you'll need something to carve the turkey with, Noggs

(((mr pipples))) I shall be driving this festive season for the same reasons - getting about and remaining perky

Podds - hoorah to your resits but only two ? I thought the whole world was affected by the GCSE English marking debacle

I think the body shop has lost its way generally, M...eldy - not just in messing up your order.

Cush was a huge baby at the Vets last night. She shook and whined big time and that was just while we waited. Not sure what is wrong - cush is obviously lame and squealed when her toes were seperated and delved around inbetween but no obvious lumps, bumps or swellings. She has anti inflams and is snuggled under a blanky as I type

Last day until new year today - ummm, I really must do something about Christmas !

((farfars))))  stop working, start running or we'll send M...eldy round to talk to your boss

Spence - I'm greatly offended that you think my house smells of cat piss.

It was cat puke yesterday - get your facts right

(((((Mr P's healing hernia, shakey pets at vets, Snaily Mum, those under the cosh of officious 'volunteers', the overworked and stressed, and anyone else who wants or needs a bit of Christmas cheer))))))

We have been and got a tree. It was half price - hoorah - we shall indeed have turkey this year Tiny Tim.

I was supposed to be in Norfolk yesterday, not today - oops. This means I get to work from home today and my stress levels have been greatly reduced.

Happy getting close to Christmas now

Morning All

I have finished "making" one of Mr P's chrimbo pressies - ok so there wasn't much making involved (just as well really not being in the slightest bit talented in that way!) but it just needs wrapping now - rather useful having an 0930 vet's appointment

(((((Cushtie)))))) remember the invite for NYD is always open Yums with however many legs of whatever type you find yourself in possession of!!  Did the vet check her pads for corns?  If he's not a greyhound specialist that might not have occured to him and it's quite a typical cause of lameness in houndies

Yums - we only had 2 resits at they were the ones who were in our 6th form and we don't take external candidates - we actually appealed around 20+ in the summer of which we got 3 successful appeals and now 2 resit improvements - not sure if those that left resat elsewhere or not.....  A lot of colleges and 6th forms relaxed the need for the C in English if they fell just short of it and had gained everything else required for entry due to the screw up

ROFL  I love your life DL..........from a distance!!!!

Penultimate day for me today until 7th Jan - YES for once I am taking full school holidays........well actually that's not true as I may well go in 3rd / 4th Jan for a bit - we'll see....... but anyway it's certainly penultimate day for the next 10 or so

Right - must go shower now for Vtgv then and en masse dash to the car through the rain to the vet's and then home for the pooches and off to work for me...

20/12/2012 at 08:27
Oops indeed Dl but how very convenient!

I'm off up north on a train today. Was annoyed with someone for arranging for me to have to travel 6 hours today and 5 tomorrow when the trains will be having and mad, but then I realised it's 2 while days away from the computer, only one hour long meeting on each, and no point working on the train this close to Christmas so might as well take my crochet

Snaily & Snaily mum ((())), Noggy hope mouth is now sorted would be a bummer for Christmas. Shock of the year Chuggy not feeling charitable !!

Looks like baton down the hatches day today so not much will be going on until storm passes.

Big coffee pot going on and staying on today I think.

20/12/2012 at 08:31
Not working today going with oldies to Alzheimer's cafe - should be an education!
((((poorly pets including hubbies)))

Morning each,

Good work Spence and daughter.

Oh dear Chuggs, hope I haven't contributed to your less- than- charitable rumblings

Yums, the chainsaw is fully fettled and was making short work of 5 trees yesterday, all felled, trimmed and logged, I've even split them.  I was practising felling trees against their natural fall line (getting them to fall the 'wrong' way)

I'm not a tree surgeon, I do know the theories but don't have the hands on experience and the confidence it brings.

The mouth was annoying last night but has settled this morning.  I think I'll arrange another dentist visit today as it still doesn't feel right.

Otherwise, it's shopping for HL and I, no point trying to work in this weather

I'm still in bed having had brekkie And we seem to have started watching Heir Hunters!!!
20/12/2012 at 09:57

jeez what a morning

Having a nightmare with the docs here, I only ever go to get my pill (as you know I have a fear of kids!) anyway after some major mess up had to see the doc this morning, he wont give me any because of my weight and age I'm at an increased risk of blood clots.  While I accept this and need to do something about my weight MrS is gonna be miffed when he's sleeping in the spare room for the forseeable future.  Have to go back in 3 months and have lost at least a stone.

right now onto tackle the council

happy thursday everyone

20/12/2012 at 10:26

There is a solution for you.

....and a toaster oven in it for Yums or me....

It probably wouldn't help Mr S though!

(((((Noggles toof hole)))))

I'm not having a very productive day, and I need to

20/12/2012 at 10:33
I, not for the first time have no idea what DL is going on about!

Oh dear poor Mr Snail.

I'm still in bed now watching Homes Inder The Hammer with a cuppa and a Thornton's chocolate snowman
20/12/2012 at 10:36

There was an old joke in the lesmanian community that for every convert you were rewarded - a bit like esso tokens to collect glasses, after a certain number you got the ultimate prize -the toaster oven - perhaps too much of an 'in' joke - sorry!

Have finished faffing best get back to work

20/12/2012 at 10:45
Ahh right that's good, thought I was just being thick!!
20/12/2012 at 10:58

Well we are now officially  and

because the DG's paw has been passed fit for purpose finally - still has to stay off the beach for another week or so but can have normal long walks everywhere else

no more Vtgv - although.................I do have 3 houndies and they are rather fragile pooches..............

Best I do some work now as the personnel manager created me with "evening" when I finally arrived this morning!

Oh and LOL at DL's christmas recruting campaign but a decided  at Snaily's Dr - I know they are charged with looking after our health but when you look at the number of overweight and obese women around on that basis you'd have to hope you didn't hold shares in any of the relevant companies...

Right - deffo going to do some work now

20/12/2012 at 12:05

I'm a bit annoyed at the docs too, but I accept what he says I'm 2st over weight now and need to do soemthing about it, however if I was young and irresponsible wouldnt there be another risk of an unwanted pregnancy joining the stats.

Anyway luckily I am resonsible and Mr S now has his own room

I had no idea there was an "in" joke about toaster ovens, but as usual I just smiled and laughed at DLs comment, she lives in a parallel universe!!!

And I wish it'd stop bloody raining, HC is up at 3am crying to go out, but wont because its raining, I'm bloody exhausted
