Nogs, there's many a child would love to have grandparents like  you, keep at it.

Podds, you should have been a nurse, just the right kind of sympathy and graphic explanations if the patient doesn't do as he's told , some people train for years to get to that level!

What an awful life that eating disorder girl has, I do feel for people who need that much control in their lives. Having said that, she could be a little more considerate to her friends - good on you Spence for sticking with her, many would have turned away by now.

I'm 'working' from home today , as someone who is expert at procrastination (I spent years studying at home remember?), I've (properly) cleaned all through downstairs ready for the christmas decs .

Lovely morning watching all the Christmas performances

Not sure where we will end up this evening, it's on going!!  I try to understand friends problem but it is difficult at times and I think it's the denial that is most frustrating that and thinking we are so thick we don't know!!! When she was married and they would come to dinner it would turn my stomach when she left mid meal to honk!  Mr Spence used to say why don't you cut out the middle man and throw the money down the loo!!!  

Beautiful day, I have my running stuff out but think leg needs a few more days

Spence, your friend probably knows you know, its like the elephant in the room.  But it must be a great support for her to have friends to socialise with, even if it ends up in the loo.  It could be much worse.  And I often feel like honking a salad, though I would never waste a curry!!!

Nogs I'm giving you a .  Your giving GD a stable environment to grow and flurish.  I lived with my grandparents for 8 years (junior and high school) and I am forever grateful for their support and love compared to the situation I was in.  Thats why I'm ever eager to return the favour whenever I can.  Thank goodness she has you both around.

Oh poor DL, that is a lot of outlaws coming over christmas, dont put any decs up, close the door and shut the curtains, pretend to be stranded on a train!

Xmas do was nice, must have been a quiet one because I didnt have hangover on sunday.  This weekend might be different though.

HC had an excellent day yesterday, me wrapping pressies, him shredding them.  I only managed to wrap 3 

Anyway, better get working, today I have a knack of upsetting everyone so I'm now locked in my office trying to do paperwork

Spence, sounds like Mrs S and I would enjoy a beer or two together.

Time to get the party frock on for a run to The Randolph in Oxford.  

I hope I can get back on the bike this week, I have work to catch up on too.

I'm off the anti B's,  and painkillers and starting to feel moderately human again

We've only had one inspector in today! just a local one visiting to "help" - ie wants pages of information and statistics that we were going to do later this week. Actually she was okay and made some useful points.

I thought I would be right clever and do a 'click and collect' at the well known superstore so I loaded my basket on Saturday night (work has its uses) and was amazed how easy it was with the 'shopping list application'
I chose the store I wanted to pick it all up from and then my time slot, slotted in between swim and gym, with temperatures hovering on freezing no chance of anything going off in the car while I produce a pile of sweat in the gym.
I wander in to the store ( I am not that familiar with big shops) and queue up at customer service under a big sign saying 'click n collect'
Once I got to the end of the queue which was also the queue of shame for fags, I announce that my name was Meldy and I was here to pick up my shopping. The lady informed me I needed to go to the bottom of the main car park to pick up my groceries, I didnt think I smelt that bad?  It transpires that the queue I was in was under an advert for 'CnC' rrather than the actual collection point ... I clicked

Sooooooooo all the way to the bottom of the car park to collect my shopping.  Apparently I should have had an email to confirm something ??  No text from Tescos to say 'your shopping is ready' ?? Nope.    Operator error more than likely.  Did I have my list on me? No.  All the way home in the effing school traffic to retrieve my list and then back to the store to trudge round trying to find random items such as dessimated coconut and vaccum packed chestnuts and icing sugar .... no wonder people get stressed at Christmas!!!   I'm only making 3 puddings and a main course!!

1.15hrs in the gym to unwind and home too late to make the cake so I shall do that one tomorrow

DL, I think I might have a bit of room left in my suitcase for you if you hurry.

(((Yummity))) I guess it is extra hard being a single parent when you are unwell and there is no-one to take over while you crawl off to bed. I am sorry to hear that there will probably not be a second date - but, as you say, not everyone will appreciate your general wonderfulness.

I am feeling rather  at the moment. I was supposed to be singing carols at aretirement home this evening, another choir member was to have picked me up so that I could fill up with pain-killers and not have to drive. The turned up at the venue saying that they had waited at the meeting-place and I didn't show. Meanwhile, I had been stood at the meeting place for 30 minutes gettng increasingly cold and sore. Obviously someone had messed up somewhere along the line - I had an inkling that something would go wrong when it was decided that we would meet over the road to save them the trouble of going up and down the dual carriageway!

Evening. Been a-running with the rnning group.

Blimey that is a palaver, Mouldy. Just one present to get and I can say I've started my  Christmas shoppings.

It's stunningly cold at work. I wouldn't be surprised if it's against H&S guidelines but what can you do. If I don't work I don't get paid.

Ours is very cold as well XB... wel, drafty actually so we are usually with blankets and fleeces and what have you on nights!

I have one or two pressies left to get and I am really stumped on one of them

Its going to be well chilly tonight, roads were already icy when I came in this evening so I cant see the FGO going far tomorrow

oh .. me and Sue are going out on our bikes ... I might freeze

Right .. time to go and freeze my tootsies off in bed

 Early night for me - Mr P got home midnight so by the time we'd chatted it was late (or rather early) by the time we got to bed and then up again at 6am as usual for the dogs so I'm a little fatigued!

 to selfish pals Sluggy - this is no weather to be standing around outside generally speaking let alone if you can't stamp your feet and jump up and down to try and keep warm.......

I find my office chilly as it seems to have a phantom draft....or rather I think the windows are just single glazed and large so one side is always cold!  I have the radiator on full blast and a portable heater.........and in dire emergencies the hot water bottle comes out

Anyway...........sweet dreams all and I'll try and be a bit more with it tomorrow

My 'office' is always nippy this time of year.

I have  to do half a shift at fave customers before heading off to my root canal work (I'm thinking of it as an early expensive Christmas present to myself)  I've not done any paid stuff for 2 and a 1/2 weeks so need to catch up a  bit.

Tea at The Randolph was lovely.
