Snaily: what do you mean you havent entered a race yet, I read somewhere you had been entered and is your comment of ' the crazy people stopped me from going home early' similar to 'my voices are telling me I need to do this' ?

Nope we actually had crazy people in today, makes the job entertaining though.  And nope I havent entered a race yet, waiting for pay day.

Its making me nervous that people can just pop out a 14 miler!

oh well, more painting this weekend

LOL !

I know

But post run outfits have to be planned

I'm trying to distract myself from the fact I have two half maras and a full mara to run before then!!

Yes Spence remember what can happen over 9 months

Did my 8.2 mile today with run / walk for final 2.8 so can now hibernate for a few weeks till the sun comes out

Snaily, the day will come when you're popping out a 14 miler and we'll all be saying "there you go, we said you could do it!"

22/02/2013 at 21:35

Snaily, not that much over a year ago, I couldnt do 1.4 miles ... dont be nervous! its just a bit further down the line

It worries me when people say casually oh I did 20 or 24 miles or more, I really only just get to the end at the moment, and cant see myself saying the same let alone doing the same for quite a long time! I'l get there eventually tho I hope

Nice run Westie

Evening

Just back from club presentation evening and not as painful as I was anticipating it to be - even if I did miss an evening in in my PJs watching the new episode of NCIS

Re the LSR (long slow run) - the wisest thing any experienced runner / coach said to me decades ago when starting out is that you should finish your LSR feeling you could do another couple of miles - if you don't you've probably done it too fast

And on that wise note I'm off to bed - oh how I wish for a lie in!

The "snow" has been coming down on and off since lunchtime but it's that sort of almost icy snow so it isn't settling - just travelling horizontally in the lovely easterly.........driving was like being in a star trek film when all the stars turn into streaks as they go to warp speed

No will review my "condition " end October to see that..........................

1) I am still breathing
2) I am still moving
3) I can bend down and put my shoes on
4) I can see to tie my laces
5) I can do 5k faster than Spence can do a half
etc etc.
