did i mention we're acquiring a puppy this evening?! just for a fortnight thank goodness. cutest little thing but having never been responsible for anything more than a tadpole (and that didn't end well) i'm a little apprehensive... will need tips from waister pet owners!

A puppy!!?

21/05/2013 at 19:01

I've held ducklings today (very brave as I don't really like birds - I'm one of those that ducks when pigeons fly over ...) but they were lovely and not like birds at all!

21/05/2013 at 19:11

Aw ducklings, how cute!

Yep spence 10 month old what they call a 'cavachon' apparently - cross between king charles spaniel and a bichon frise...

Big floppy paws and ears and looks utterly adorable - but apparently 'chews wires' - which in our house means the entire house will probably have exploded by tomorrow evening if not adequately policed! Policing is quite difficult as we only have 2 interior doors... am arranging to borrow a stair gate!

Fortunately we only have him for 10 days - don't think I'd cope with any more!

Excellent Cheesy!! Was it all fabulous fun?? So glad we had a waister out there cheering! She's looking good!

(where IS meldy anyway?! Still out there? I notice we've not had a race report from her yet!)

(and what about the other weekend racers??)

21/05/2013 at 19:24

Awww DD that sounds sooo cute - neighbours used to dog-sit a King Charles spaniel when I was growing up and I fell in love with them.  We used to hold his ears up out of the way when he ate his dinner or they got all mucky.  Crossed with a bichon frise has got to be a great combination - photos please!!!

Lookin' good Melds

ahh Daffs sounds gawjuss

21/05/2013 at 19:34

Ooh is that Meldy?  Awesome - she looks like she was doing great there.

21/05/2013 at 19:37

That is indeed Meldy! Probably after at least 13 hours - am I right?! Very impressive!

21/05/2013 at 19:45

Only Meldy would wear shoulder pads with a vest top

21/05/2013 at 20:07

Meldy looks amazing.

Coco Stratford sounds just right for you. Whatever I do I'll be run/walking it

Daffs get some pics in here. And let's hope you all survive the next 10 days!

Sore throat alert

And here she is at T1

Had a great time! I am posting somemore vids on the Lanza Thread, more general stuff. The end of Loop 2 must have been 14-15 hours? I cant remember exactly as Roni and I were by that time with the Pirates at Route 66, and one or two beers had been consumed .. to counteract the heat of course ...

Some simply amaizing performances were witnessed, everything from people drifting over the line like it was a Sunday stroll, to people in major pain almost unable to walk! all ages too, 6 & 70 year old men & women finishing alongside youngsters.

It has really made me reconsider my own training, and has fired up a longer time goal ....

21/05/2013 at 20:59

ooh cheesy, meldy will be pleased!tis chaos here already...

21/05/2013 at 21:56

So, dog owners... What are you actually meant to DO with the beasts? This one's snuffling round finding all kinds of bits under the sofa (has already destroyed a plastic bottle top and a painted fir cone, but nothing else fortunately). I don't want him to be bored! but I also don't want to spend the next 2 weeks doing nothing but entertaining the dog...

I guess I'm going to be walking a lot...

21/05/2013 at 22:00

Yep, you gotta knacker him out!!

You could put some treats in a plastic bottle for him to get out

But she is everywhere ... I'm looking at a cycling website (found short local group rides of an evening or weekend ... hmmm ) and her photo is there in the sidebar, cackling at me!!!!

I hope the young Spence is recovering now. This event with HWMBT happened a couple of months ago, he is ok (ish) now. Yes, Sluggs, he does recover, but not back up to the full shilling if you understand. But we just go with whatever happens, no point dwelling on things that can't be changed.

How is the puppy doing Daffs? get some old slippers for him to play with and when he picks up something he shouldn't take it off him and give him his slipper. Lots of walkies as well.

Today is my Friday , in fact, the last Friday of my current working life . It's been an odd week, taking books and things into work and clearing my desk bringing photos and other bits home. We are having a small buffet lunch at work with just my team today. I have a funny feeling something is being plotted, but maybe that's just my paranoia. Watch this space as they say.

Have a good day and WAISt well. When is the scary one back?
