Btw, it took me two months of working with Jasper and Coco almost every day as above to settle them with each other.

I would also try here: to see if there is anything else that might be useful, DL.

we've always had 2 cats (replace the dead one!) and never had any trouble, they always end up "pals" The current 2 wash each other then end up fighting which is funny

Well hoorah and falderee - I thought this morning, that someone had cancelled Monday and neglected to tell me.

Meant to say well done to the taming of the Shrew sbury gang -surprised that the number of hills ddn't engender more swearing.

Thanking you kindly for the cat advice Coco - you suggested a website fir anything else that might be useful. Sadly it doesn't sell guns.

Onwards and upwards - or in my case leftwards and a rolly chair to the desk

You'd have to teach them how to shoot first, DL.  The lack of opposable thumbs might be problematic  and then they might end up taking a pot-shot at you.

I think a lot of it depends on personalities and temperaments of the cats.  My brother tells me that my cats "have issues", which may be true as they are both rescue cats.

I certainly have issues with Jasper today - he landed on me 3 times in the night with no warning.  There's a limit to how much heart failure one person can tolerate in one night

The younger you can introduce them to each other, the better - cats are pretty much fully socialised by 6 months so if they're older than that it's going to be harder.  Jasper was 6 months when I got him but Coco was a year so it has always been a bit touchy between them.

But don't give up hope!

I wouldnt trust mine with a gun, he does enough damage with the arsenal he has got already

Yes, I too was landed on in the middle of the night several times and then when he is comfortable and I have the audacity to move IN MY OWN BED I then get a huge great sigh and then he has to go through the whole process of ablutions again until he is comfortable

love cats

24/06/2013 at 17:46

Dear old Hamish does t move very far anymore

DL, I think I was SO well behaved!!

I can't remember if I've entered Stratty or not! I've had to e mail them to see if they have a list!!

What the heck is Nadal up to!!?

Is it bed time yet!?

24/06/2013 at 17:49

Meldy it's not YOUR bed, as you very well know!  It's HIS bed but he allows you a portion of it for the night-shift...Never underestimate your cat's generosity

How very true that is !!!

Evening all. Back safe and sound and reasonably clean and dry! Managed to get packed up yesterday between "showers" ... that's a euphemism! Had to take stuff to the car as it got too wet to be allowed on the camping field, but it wasn't far. Managed it all while a deep black cloud moved away and rained elsewhere. Then I looked windward (?) and said "that one might rain on us though" and we just got to dive under an awning and order our veggie curries as it came down like stair rods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great music - Proclaimers (you'll have heard of them) Show of Hands and the Oysterband!! Last two are two of my top live bands! Rotten drive there with heavy slow traffic, but empty motorway on the way back. Haven't seen Pippette for ages. She got back from Rome while we were away and left us a note. We crawled into bed in the wee small hours, went to work. She went later and is still there. There is a congratulations card for her so I have my fingers crossed she has got through the first part of her selection process ....

The tiredness is hitting but I have to make some maths work as someone is visiting the class tomorrow (only internal and not really serious - but do want it all to work well!.)

Pippette's note says MiL is thinking of moving back this part of the country ...

Only swore once, Spence - what? starting at the start line and ending at the finish?

24/06/2013 at 19:23

I love The Proclaimers!

24/06/2013 at 19:33

Yeah, but the Oysterband knock their socks off!

(or you could fill in your own expression from your varied and colourful vocabulary - allegedly ...)

Well done to the Shrewsbury 2.

Beleated Happy Adversity wishes to DragonLady and HWMBT

Any news of FIL from the Noggmeister?

Coco, your advice is reassuring as it matches with what I have already been given regarding introducing a new cat into the house. Alfie is around 18 months (and lived with his sibling for his first 10 months or so), new cat is somewhere around 10 years and has amicably shared space with MILs cat when needed. Mind you, new cat hasn't been delivered yet...

(((DL))) this might be a blessing in disguise.

(((Podds))), the problem (as I see it) is that you need to enter events in order to get any sort of motivation as you don't really enjoy exercise - but you could really do with a break from events and be able to 'exercise' for the fun of it... Maybe look at something different such as orienteering or geocaching?

Glad that you had a good time and didn't get washed away, Pippi.

Slept really badly last night and have felt pretty rough today. Managed to sleep for about 3 hours this arvo though, so that has helped

WAIST well xxx

Ah, pussy talk When does the new girl get delivered, sluggy?

Welcome home Pippi. Sounds like a great weekend. Fingers crossed for Pippette

So DL what is the rock. Is it a change or more of the same?

((((Podds)))  hashing?

I'm sure you have plenty of miles in the bank to get a 55 min  10k , m.....eldy

Off home shortly I hope

FGO in the morning and then I shall see what I feel like doing for the rest of the day!

24/06/2013 at 21:58

Yums, I think that many of these programs show people who have very sad lives. I don't tend to watch them as it feels a bit like a freak show...

Cleo, as we have decided to call her, arrived an hour or so ago and is now ensconced in SB's room. She seems quite happy and is purring nicely. Alfie is in the lounge where he will spend the night, as usual.I'm not sure that either have yet realised there is another cat in the house!

24/06/2013 at 22:24

Anyone want a 3rd cat.  HC is on thin ice, 4 TIMES I got up with him last night, a claw in my toe at 1am scared the crap out of me, then he started attacking something around the house, I threw him out at 3am and bloody OH let him back in at 5am, when he decided to hide in the quilt cover that was drying over bannister and attacking it.  He decided to get on the bed at 5.45am for a sleep.............15minutes before my alarm went off.  Little sod

Is DL going to Mars????

well my sparkley new week took a turn for the worst, 2 people leaving, 1 is a vital team member, so I'm right in the shite.  Need to mull over options and come up with a plan before everyone else goes off with stress!

Work is right interferring with my WAISTer time!

Did a nice gentle 4.4k with the neighbour, took 36mins of run/walk.  Wednesday i'll be doing out for a 7k, (would like a 10k but I only have 50mins in the morning so thats impossible!!!) Thursday a neighbour run again, and the weekend I'm going for it....................the big 14k.  That'll be the furthest i've ever run!  (stop sniggering!)
