for joggers, slow runners, run/walkers and newbies
So much for not drinking much and getting home early so I could be up and about, fresh as a daisy, this morning ...
Trying to keep cool with Megs
Sheep hat - obvious thing to do in a heat wave, knit woolly hats!
Awesome Tubs - love the pics
Spence - wow your running is really going great guns at the moment. Those 11 secs were hard earned and well deserved as was the 8.45 min mile
Slugs - I really hope that the spinal cord thingy helps. It must be really tough to have to wait until October for it - as if things weren't hard enough for you. So sorry that you won't be keeping Cleo but yes, your primary responsibility is to Alfie's welfare. I would love to have another cat or dog but I always figure that I made a commitment to do the best I could for the 2 that I already have and I KNOW they wouldn't settle with another animal or any kind. It will all work out for the best in the end.
Tubs - Esther is a nice name and very suitable.
Cool and overcast here today. We're taking it easy at home which is good as my knees are tight and achy after the swim yesterday. More stretching and foam rollering needed later but for now I have feet up on the sofa and a magazine waiting to be read...
Have a loverly saturday all (((()))
crikey spence, that's good going indeed!! well done you!! you worked damn hard for those 11 seconds
Been for a hot and humid bike ride with Mr P. A lot quieter than expected down on the front but it's a bit cloudier today. Stupidly forgot suncream - 50 years of being a pink and freckly redhead you'd think I'd know better! I'm now even pinker and frecklier but don't think it's enough to be sore.
Bike gurus - I got tingly fingers. Do you think this could be because I raised my saddle last week, but not the handlebars, so the angle and pressure have changed?
Strawberry shortcake for tea my summer speciality.
Got my essay back - been getting jittery about it - but it's a similar mark to the others - in fact the best yet byt 2 points!
Speedy Spence! What's tomorrow?
Tubs, you can keep the wooly hat, thanks!
Pippi you need to relax your grip and loosen your shoulders .. but yes it could be to do with changing the angleI managed a quick plod before work, didnt sleep that well as it was so warm last night, its much cooler today so hoping for a good ole snooze tonight and a long bike tomorrow
We are socialising tonight - we've been invited next door for a barbecue, pimms and wine. I'm quite excited (which is a bit sad really)...
Sounds grand Coco
well biked Pippi
well plodded Meldy
Tad annoyed Parkrun results out by 9 seconds, cuts down my PB!
It's only numbers, Spence!
Thanks, Meldy - the saddle height is the only thing that's changed and I don't remember it happening before. I don't think I was holding on for grim life (apart from going through the sand traps! and today I managed the whole way without stopping for sand or the gate thing - 2 offset fences when you have to do a wide S shape - I can do one but not the other!)
It's still a PB Spence, and that is particularly impressive in this heat!
Awwww, Esther is totally adorable! This is the first time I have had a long-haired, I'm gradually getting used to having fluff permanently up my nose!
Well cycled Pippi, I have problems with those gates, I blame it on the fact that my bike is quite long .
Went to a charity dog show this arvo, out in the countryside (the one we tried to go to last week by mistake). It was around 25 degrees, so a bit more comfortable today. Got to talk to some lovely dawgies, including a pretty grey houndie .
No plans for tomorrow as yet, will see what we feel like doing when the time comes.
Enjoy your evening Coco - and everyone else.
Well cycled indeed Pippi
Thanks for the vibes for auntie Daffs the other day She's out and feeling alright. Just waiting for more test results now.
My ever-persuasive sister has somehow managed to persuade my mother to do the race for life tomorrow. Not sure she's ever walked 3 miles in one go before in her life, but she's got her trainers ready and her special t shirt and I imagine she'll give it a damn good go She must have some determination - she did raise me and my sister, after all...
A pretty greyhoundie you say, sluggy?
Not sure I like the sound of long haired pussies although Larry's was n I was very fond of it.
Spence, you are more of a man than I'll ever be as I bunked off park run thinking it would be too hot
(((((Coco))) runners are pants patients n usually mump n moan if they're out longer than two weeks so a year must seem interminable.
Oooh, get XB taking a bath all fresco with an XBette
Well cycled, Pippi
Are you making an outfit for stratty from all that material, sue
Quiet day here. Remind me not to allow others to disturb my equilibrium
A PB is a PB. Should mean there's another one waiting for you next week. Have it.
I haven't run; I'm blaming it on the dog's lack of enthusiasm. Tomorrow I am going on a running adventure - I shall set off from home and run along the river before heading up a big hill and then come home again. The dog isn't invited.
Yums, don't allow others to disturb your equilibrium.
Go go go Daff's Mum

Melds, hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.
(((((((((Amandax ad family))))))))))
Tubs, Sluggie's right, Esther is TOOOO beautiful for words---talk about a princes!!!
Coco, I think neighbourhood entertaining is some of the most fun, but also makes me the most, hmm, not nervous, but alert cos you're going to see the consequences day after day
Sluggie, a dog show in th heat must have been quite something!
Ooops, gotta leave for church, back later. Due to be 36 on the thermometer here today, 'feels like 38'. Goodie. No chugging for me today, methinks...
GO GO GO DAFFYMUM!!!!! And sis, of course.
Your mum must be one great lady, seeing as she raised you, Daffs!
