Not sure about that Nick - Scargill's still going strong.

I don't really have anyone I dislike in that category since Maggie, KM is a nuisance and not very nice, AS was just doing what he could for his members, although I find Elton John a very repugnant person in virtually every way I would not wish him away

Why do you find him "repugnant in virtually every way"?

Would you like him more if he was a murderer?

So what if your kids turned into Elton John?

You wouldn't have to worry about a pension.  They'd be minted.

(He was quite good in the '70s.)

He makes my skin crawl, just something about the poor bloke but each to his own, and my kids couldn't they have better raw materials

Totally wrong category a much maligned man who took a stand when the rest of the country hadn't got the balls. All the things he said about Maggie's intentions that were ridiculed at the time by everyone actually came true.

Arthur Scargill used the union contributions of impoverished miners to fund a luxury flat at the Barbican and expected to keep it not only after he was no longer union leader but for his lifetime and that of his wife.

Yes, a lovely man.

Is that any different to the Floor at the Ritz kept by Maragaret Thatcher a contractual term is there for the duration.

I'm not making a comparison, I'm talking about Scargill specifically, poncing off his union members  - those same impoverished and out of work union members about whom he professed to care so much.
