Helloooo !

Just repolaced the waste pipe thing on the kitchen sink as I managed to break the old one off - oops ! Are there special tools to tighten up those collars on the plastic pipes - hand tight doesn't seem to be doing the job ?

Also - hot tap on the downstairs sink is just coming out very very slowly. Hot water upstairs is fine ? Anyone any ideas ?

Worth a go anyway ! Ta !

Aha = you've stolen another one. I can't remember how to change my pic, so I'm sticking with this one ! last time I messedround I locked myself out of my own account and was 'cougies stupider clone' for a week.

So what exciting news have you ? I've been good for the past 2 days, and not posted from work. Hard but had to be done. I see I missed a lot ! Mainly smut. Damn !

Cougie, I'm not a plumber, however have done quite a bit of plumbing in my 180 year old house so to answer your questions

1. Yes, you can buy special tools for a few quid. Can't remember what they're called but if you pop into B & Q and go to the plumbing part you'll probably see the tools that have big enough jaws to grip.

2. Sounds like an air block. If you get a bit of hosepipe and connect the cold water tap to the hot water tap and turn them both on the cold water goes into the hot water pipe and removes the air block. Can be a bit messy so get lots of towels out! There are another few reasons but this is the one I've had most often.

ok I dont usualy own up to it but I took the oath and now when there are screams for is there a plumber in the house I come over all super heroish.1st waste fittings are usualy only done up hand tight so just check that the rubbers are not twisted or pushed out and also check to see if the hot tap is turning all the way as quite often the spindle has a habit of seizzing up when in a hard water area.
