any running clubs in Reading area?

I know there is a parkrun in my area which I can only attend 1 every 6 weeks due to work, but I just wondered how I could find out if there are any running clubs in my area??? I live in Reading, Berkshire.

Hi Ben,

There's Reading Roadrunners (google them, I don't remember the url right now), which is a big club and organizes several local events. They meet at Palmer Park (or did when I was a member years ago).

There's also Reading Joggers, who I think have a web page. They're a smaller and, dare I say it, less "serious" outfit (I hope they won't mind me saying that!)

Also, the guys at Sweatshop do runs every Monday evening from the shop, opposite the railway and bus station if you're after something less formal.

When were you a RRR Muttley?

I was a member from 1988 to about 1996.

I was the same - I lived in Elgar Road.  I sed to enjoy the socail side of the track meets, as you could, if you wanted, do the build-ups and then just stand around and chat!!

Now I live out in the sticks (and I don't work in Reading anymore) I couldn't make it for club nights.  It amazes me how many of the members I know still taking part in events regularly.
