Seems like an eternity since last season ended but life has now returned to normal and we can start to dream again about those cold Tuesday nights watching our boys spoil yet another campaign which seemed so promising back in August. Anyone else excited or is it just me?

Whatever happened to a summer break? Seems like the season only just ended. Football doesn't excite me any more. It's now so completely overhyped and overblown, and the saturation coverage as though it actually matters leaves me bemused, and frequently irritated. The skill can be sublime, but it's lost under the constant cheating and play acting and it's now just a complete turn off. I'd rather watch rugby.

Been down there Bruce and have to admit it was a bit grim. Hopefully we won't be back. You really needed to get back after one season. Must be difficult to maintain a Football League mentality as the seasons pass. Hopefully this season you'll be successful.

Is it a sign of the times that those of us lower down the tables seem a bit more enthusiastic than some of the big boys?

Always get a 'happy new year' text from one of my friends on the day the fixtures come out. Before mobile phones he would basically go into hibernation over the summer. Nowadays he obsessively sends texts about pre season friendlies.

Do love fixtures day though, all the trips you think 'I'll do that one if it falls at the right time', and the planning starts! 1st home game against Forest, always a good 'un!
