I know some of us are big Biathlon fans but what has happened to Eurosport's coverage of the Olympic events? We know the BBC coverage is going to be shite(waiting for it now) We need Winterton and Dixon not BBC idiots who don't know the first thing about the sport. Eurosport has shown it in the past. So what's going on/
OMG they've poached Patrick Winterton. Clever move BBC.
Svendsen v Fourcade for my money
Wow Ole Einar!! Amazing!! Made my day. I Dared not to hope he would win. What a guy!
Hats off to the BBC. Really good coverage.
I guess there are no other biathlon fans out here? Any Finns on the medals?
Ole Einar Bjoerndalen at 40 years of age.
And managed to out ski the rest. Which hasn't really been the case over the past three seasons.
I've been a biathlon fan for years, luckily the German TV channels show it here all winter as the Germans are biathlon fanatics. I've also followed Ole Einer the flying Norwegian for many seasons. Some of the World Cup venues are not too far from us, especially Ruhpolding, winter isn't winter for me without watching biathlon. Been very tricky here this year as we've had virtually no snow even in the mountains. Looking forward to watching this afternoon's race.
I missed it live, and the BBC haven't had any more than a 90 second clip of it on their website. A bit surprising given that Ole is up there with the greatest sports people of all time. The way he rattled through his last four standing shots after missing the first was amazing and what made the difference in the end.
Always wondered why the 'Bi-athletes' are in such a hurry to 'Build their position' in the shoot. If they simply stood still with their arms by their sides and took three deep breaths before lifting the rifle they would recover much faster from the effort it took to get them there.
Because those three breaths and three more in the next shoot can be the difference between Gold and being off the podium.
