I need some advice please. Does anyone know how to calculate image size compared to focal length and focusing distance? Basically I need to know whether an image would look bigger (therefore less cropping) on a standard print if taken at 7 inches with a 105mm lens or at 18 inches with a 200mm lens. The camera is digital so actually need to multiply length of lens by 1.5. Hope this makes sense
The 7-inch shot will be bigger, all other things being equal. The other shot is from more than twice as far away, but with a lens less than twice the length.
