Afternoon,

Hope everyone is well....i have just typed out an epistle of a post and it got lost (something to do with a 'runtime error' - maybe thats politely telling me i take too long to type my posts).

(((Mima))) i'm so sorry to hear things aren't good for you at the minute - sending you lots of hugs.

Nam, i hope your mum is coming along well, and that she begins to feel some benefit from her procedure soon.

I am sat sipping at an SB spritzer in sunny Jersey. Its so lovely to have a week off work. I even brought my trainers along to have a little seafront trot - but i haven't quite got there yet - maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is well xx

Sound lovely SP, Jersey is such a pretty place. Go to the zoo if you get a chance and the Underground Tunnels.

Off to Bristol tomorrow for a conference. I am so not in the mood.

Evening,

Belated thanks for the birthday wishes, and for the well wishes for Papa MO He's still in hospital, but being treated and recovering well. He'll be in another week or so, but doesn't mind so much as it coincides with Euro 2012!

Was thinking of you and your mum Nam - hope she feels much better soon.

Hello Mima, sorry to hear your sad news When things were really crap for me, a friend told me to do something nice for myself every day - so I did. Whether it was a run along the canal, getting myself some nice chocolate, or a DIY pedicure, I made a conscious effort to do things that were purely for me and no-one else. It won't stop the hurt, but it will be a small way to take some of the time out you need. Take care x

Hello SP, hope you're enjoying Jersey!

TP, I hope you feel better tomorrow and that the conference goes as well as possible.

Last week was generally a nightmare here. Dolly the hamster sadly passed away the day I got back She was quite old for a dwarf hammie (over 2 years), but had seemed fine when I left, and G said she was ok when he saw her the day before, as in active and eating... although he thought she was acting oddly by moving her bedding to a different spot. Very sad to lose her, but she was already about a year old when we got her and was the friendliest little hamster I've ever met, so feel very lucky to have had 13 months with her.

As for the running, have barely done any to speak of in the last couple of weeks! Hope everyone else is faring better!

Morning

MO - glad to hear Papa MO is recovering well. Sad news about Dolly too  - its never easy when we lose a much loved pet.

TP - i was thinking of you last night when i had the SB . I had a Kir Royale later in the evening - its been a few years since i last had one, so i was really looking forward to it, but it wasn't particularly nice. Bristol is a long way for you to travel to a conference today - i hope you are getting an overnight stay somewhere nice.

Its raining here today, so will do something 'touristy' indoors - maybe the German Underground Hospital.

Have a good day everyone xx

RIP Dolly. x

Corrie, well done on the gym bunnying....

Or new regime is working quite well!!  G takes kara running with him now when I go to the gym. She loves it, and I get some space to do my bit.

TP yoo in Brizzol?  Staying for a couple of days or just a hit & run visit?

Hi everyone *waves* - not had a chance to read back.

Well, settled here in Goa.  Accommodation is pretty basic but I've at least got air con and my own bathroom  Hot water would be a bonus though.  Food is good and  plentiful.  Haven't eaten out yet (it's fully catered, including weekends).  Decent bunch of guys in the apartments and at the training centre.

Training is going well, but it's long days when you throw in the evening study.  Going out for a beer tonight though.  Haven't had a chance to run yet as I've either been too tired or it's been raining (it's moonsoon season).  There are breaks in the rain so I will get out for trots (running wise, other sorts haven't been an issue)

Catch you all later.

Afternoon all

Sorry to hear about Dolly MO  It is hellish when pets die, and probably more so for those that don't last long at the best of times.  Good news about your Dad though

Hi to Mima, sorry to hear your news too.  Break-ups are rubbish, so i hope you're doing okay.

Glad you've managed to sort out a bit of a routine with G and the doggie Nam.  That is half the battle with exercise, and hard to be consistent if there's lots going on. Have you killed that spin teacher yet?

I had massage course this weekend which I loved   Meeting up with some of the girls tonight for a practice.  If all goes well with this one (so far so good!) I might go straight onto the remedial and sports massage course, because if I don't I mayhave to wait 8 months to do it.  So skintness shall be with me for a while, lol.

Ooh and i've paid my deferred entry fee for VLM next year !  Not sure if i'll do it, but i had to say yay or nay by the 20th, and knew i'd regret it if I binned the chance.  I'll see how it goes at the Aviemore half in oct, then decide what to do. I ran three miles the other day (nearly killed me) and two this morning (not tooooooo bad), so we shall see!!

Hope our wee BDB is getting on okay in India.  Wonder if he's melted yet?

edit: oooh x-post! *waves to BDB*

Just took in a parcel for the neighbours and the courier accused me of being BDB's wife.

Many are called Caz, few are chosen

Evening all.  About to settle in for some study time.  The course itself is ok, it's the study I struggle with.  I've never been a student as at school the stuff I did was easy so I didn't really need to stretch and I've not done any structured learning since.  First exam is on Monday so I really need to get the knowledge into the brain for then.

A little in shock after my run earlier.  Just 3 miles but it was tough.  Combination of heat and humidity, not having run for a month and food I've eaten today I think.  Next one will be better.

BDB, not sure if you ever use mind maps (or spider diagrams as I call them) as a tool for learning, but I find them immensely useful.  I'm a really visual learner, so they make a big difference to me.  Worth googling if you've not heard of them.  Good luck though!

14/06/2012 at 16:17

Thanks Lee.  If I get a chance I'll have a look.  I'm more of a hands on doing it sort of person (oo-er).  What doesn't help is that the exam is based on old tech (I'm going through dumps of previous exams) which isn't very relevant.  Need to know enough of it though to get the qual though.

Evening Crapsters. Two days in Bristol with no interweb or any real time. Too much socialising the first night so I was tucked up in bed by 11 last night and getting deluged by comments about being a lightweight

Sounds like you're having fun there BDB, I used the mind map things when I was a student but that was a long time ago. The maps were on parchment .....

Need to get unpacked and laundry underway. Only 4 more sleeps until I am off on my hols

Evening

I never used the 'mind map thingy' - which may partly explain my exam grades

Having a lovely time in Jersey - visited the War Tunnels and the Durrell Wildlife Conservation centre - both of which were fab.

Exciting to have only 4 more sleeps until your hols TP. Where is it you are cruising?

SC when do you do your swim - is it this weekend? Wish you lots of luck for it xx

Lee i hope your course is going well - i could do with a good back massage at the minute (and i don't fancy paying hotel spa prices to have it).

Hope everyone else is well xx

Cool TP, not long to go now!

Well I could give you an arm/hand or leg/foot massage SP; we cover hips/back in July, lol.  I'm loving the course though.  So plenty of studying for me this weekend, mixed in with some training .

How long are you in Jersey for?

15/06/2012 at 09:33

Hi SP.  Swim starts at 9:15 tomorrow morning and I hope to have it out of the way by 5:30pm.  I won't be swimming for all of that time - I do get breaks.

Getting excited and a little nervous now.  I have a leisurely swim with a friend at lunchtime, to calm my nerves.  He's not much of a swimmer so it won't be far or tiring.  Then I have to drive off to Dover and brief G on what I expect from him tomorrow.  I'm a bit concerned that he might not be the best person to support me as he's never done anything like that before and he might not realise how important it is for me to gt it right.  He is also too protective and I suspect that he will try to stop me going in for the second swim, but I am ready to fight that one out.

15/06/2012 at 09:34

Oi, hands off my bird

Snap on the studying Lee - good luck with yours.

I'm in class tomorrow (course is 6 days a week).  WIll probably be out tomorrow night for a few, then hit the books and mock tests Sunday ready for the first exam on Monday.  Eek!  Hopefully get another run in too.

15/06/2012 at 09:35

Good luck Caz!  You'll storm it

15/06/2012 at 09:38

Storm might be the right word BDB.  Forecast is for 40 mph winds with gusts of up to 70mph.

15/06/2012 at 09:42

Ah, British summer eh?  No taking unecessary risks young lady.  The sea will still be there next weekend.

15/06/2012 at 09:46

I'm sure if its that bad then the organisers will cancel the event.

Just been to see my chiropractor.  The one who is the ex rugby player but still ahs the body.  I got a hug and he happened to mention that he is single.  Do you think I've pulled?
