Morning lovelies.

Yes cheers guys it is all a bit unsettling.  I hope he's not found hanging off a tree somewhere.    Most recent thing was last night, his wife issuing an appeal.  http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Wife-missing-Jason-Hook-issues-appeal/story-16721592-detail/story.html

We put our solicitors on hold so we don't waste money on searches etc if the whole thing may fall through.

I was thinking that he might have financial worries that he was hiding from his wife and the house sale/purchase would have meant that he could no longer hide them.  I hope he realises that it will be fixable however bad he thinks it is.

Cousin of mine found out during mortgage application that his wife had taken out 3 substantial loans in joint names, forging his signature on them.  How she though she was going to get away with that I don't know.  She didn't do a bunk though, she chucked him out, moved in her bit on the side who she's been spending the borrowed cash on and we hope, is living unhappily ever after.

It's Friday ... but I can't tell you yet .... not till this evening .... I am rubbish at secrets

Back to earth with a bang today, up early to be RD at parkrun, afternoon of shopping and cleaning as we have 7 friends coming over tonight for dinner. Temper a bit stretched as its too hot to be buggering sbout washing glasses and making lasagne. Should have gone for the BBQ option.

Good news about your missing house seller Nam

Congrats on your great news TP.

Yes our awol seller is back, but we haven't heard anything yet what that means for us.  Do we ignore the whole episode and assume the sale goes ahead?  Do we assume the have too much on their plates to cope with this at this stage and assume it's off?  Do we just sit here like lemons?  Will give them a week and call estate agents to see what's up now.

We've been looking at other places, in particular closer to Bath, like Corsham or *spits* Trowbridge, but most places in our price range are modern and characterless, and on these soul less "family estates" that just make my heart sink.

Sounds about fair, they'll need time to sort themselves out and find out what was behind his disappearance but if the house is still on the market then they need to deal with that too - even if it's only to ask if you can put it back a month or so.

We had a long chat at the weekend about where we're going to live.  Although I'd prefer to move to another house there are good reasons for staying in S's current house and I can't really counter them with any real argument.  We are going to totally redecorate, I'll take quite a lot of my furniture down and we'll put in a whole lot of new cupboards/wardrobes for my stuff.

The huge room which is his playroom we're going to divide in half (it was originally 2 rooms) and he'll keep half and the other half will be the 2nd spare room and my playroom.   I suspect we will be spending a lot of time in IKEA looking at cupboards!

I've said if I can't have a new house then I want a puppy.

 TP nice one.

Second spare room? That sounds promising...

20/08/2012 at 14:36

The actual spare room is what you'd call a small double so it's no use for visitors who have children so I'll take the sofa bed from my house and put it in my playroom for overspill visitors.  I am hoping to have a lot of visitors
