this is my new favourite gif

crossing the road

don't really want to start a new running with ipod argument - but i reckon it's a fairly good example of how people aren't quite as a aware of their environment when wearing an ipod..

then again - he could just be an idiot

Why did he turn back???

It looks to me like the person was already on the crossing before the car appeared around the corner ... and unless I'm not viewing it properly on my computer (it appears in a small window), how do you know he was wearing an iPod?

Yeah looks to me like he's deliberately running in to the car because he's annoyed it's forcing it's way over the crossing while he is still on it.

Oh and people don't need to be wearing an iPod to be unaware of their environment.  Last night on my cycle home, I was forced to swerve twice due to people walking straight out across a road in front of me without looking.

I'm confused. I see absolutely nothing in that to support your iPod comments.

Probably realised he'd forgotten something and turned back without thinking?

(Also can't see the ipod!)

It looks to me like the kid turned back to hit the car deliberately.  Why else would he have only starting running after he had turned around and hit the car?

Never let truth get in the way of a perfectly good joke folks.

Should the car have been turning then ? And quite so fast ? It just missed him by inches ?

As we cant see if he even had an ipod in - I dont see how you can draw the conclusions about it ?

Surely the message should be dont drive so fast ?

Maybe the driver was listening to an iPod?  Born to be Wild or something.

Where in the road was the ipod?
27/10/2011 at 18:51
He was on a zebra crossing: the car shouldn't have been going across while he was on it.
27/10/2011 at 18:53
Maybe it's more of an iPlod, the footage being from a Police car?
27/10/2011 at 18:57
Seems an odd place to stick a crossing, but still not getting the iPod point
27/10/2011 at 19:02

take it this is abroad in a right hand drive country?

As otherwise the driver is not only  a terrible one, but is also ridiculously on the wrong side of the road.

Running into a car intentionally doesn't seem a very intelligent thing to do though...maybe kicking a wing mirror or the lights in...but running spark into a car?

Seems very clear to me - the guy crossing the road got well p*ssed off that the car didn't want to stop (as he should have done) at the Zebra. So he turned and bounced himself off the car to give the driver a bit of a I have been tempted to slap the rear ends of cars who have nearly reversed off their drives into me, when I've been running.

Nothing to do with iPods, why would you think it was???
