Do flies count as carbs or protein?

Seem to have swallow so many today whilst running or cycling that I thought I'd better record them in my food diary! But are they carbs or protein? How many calories and what's their GI?

Anyone know? ;0)

legs - protein
wings - carbohydrate (fibre, so low GI)
body - mix of fat and protein, depending on how much exercise the fly has been doing. How tall are you? Might help decide whether the fly was fit (flying high = high protein) or lower (unfit fly, low flying, higher fat content)

Protein, and 'good' fats.
Nutritious, free-range, and cheap - what could be a healthier diet for an enthusiastic carnivore?

thats gross, but it is impossible to run without getting flies in eyes and mouth.reckon they're definately protein.some very meaty-yuk

Unfortunately Heckenhocker I'm a short arse. So that means I've blown the diet. How much more exercise do you have to do to burn off the fat from eating a fly?!

The following exercise will burn off the fat from eating a low-flying-unfit-fly...

- lean forward slightly, say peh, peh, peh
- pull a very scrunched up face and say yeuch
- wipe mouth with arm as if attempting to remove a small insect from the tongue carried out immediately after eating the fly - hard to get the right level of emphasis on the peh once the moment has passed :-)

PS - for those tall types who eat skinny flies, just one peh, will be sufficient!

i can cope with the flies, but i swallowed a ladybird the other week - that WAS gross!

Depends if you spit or swallow, surely?

Does it count if the insect goes up your nose?

Depends if you sneezed immediately Kitty.

As for ladybirds, that's a whole new board game!
