Oh dear. Confession time. I always shower BEFORE a run and like to wear a splash or two of Clinique Happy for Men (and the matching roll-on deoderant natch).

Well you never know who you're going to bump into do you?

Why do I get the feeling I'm going to regret saying that???

I always have a shower before a run too! Strange but true!

I was wearing anti perspirant for yesterdays run but only because I had applied it before I went out on Saturday night!

Shower before a run, why?

Always wear mitchum and perfume. Remember doing a race once and this bloke came up to me and said "with that colour of hair and that perfume I remember you from the Coniston 14 2 weeks ago". The bugger was right too!

I shower because I like to be clean... Almost to an obsessive compulsive degree!

Whats mitchum???

Its a place in Saff Lahndan! oh... and deodorant for "problem perspiration"

Perspiring is natural, so something designed to hinder it is not good, in my opinion.

I don't see why deodorant should hinder you running, unless it causes a skin irritation when confronted with heavy sweating.

I use neither. I enjoy a few minutes of primeval pleasure after a run, when I savour ponging to high heaven and emitting a visible heat haze around me. Then into the shower.

Soz, Mitchum is a brand of underarm deodorant, dead good and it was given to all at FLM this year.

Out of curiosity Muttley, you still talking to me. It wasn't a big knife!

Agree with Muttley, you are supposed to perspire to control temperate. The Physio range said it worked harder the more you perspired but this seemed worrying. Have occasionally used Deodorant.

Not sure about this showering beforehand trend. Sounds like some strange new age men who wear make-up, have pedicures and carry hand-bags (usually known as Italians)

Are they the people who buy skin cream for "men"?
09/12/2002 at 13:17
Why thank you... I can't see the problem with showering before hand! If you wanna do it, do it!

Btw... I chew my nails, use a rucksack, and don't wear make-up.

i have sensitive skin (generally a sensitive guy!) so I use nivea bloke's stuff (not ashamed to admit it either)
09/12/2002 at 13:21
If you stopped usuing that stuff you'd stop having sensitive skin.

Be a real man, use Coal Tar soap for everything related to cleanliness.

Will do

Brooksie, do you know why so many Italian men have moustaches?

So they can LOOK like their mothers as well!
