I am going to try the 18 mile option of the White Cliffs Challenge tomorrow. Should be interesting as I haven't run more than 6 miles (or posted on here) for the last 6 months!!!!!!

Calling all club members who missed out on a VLM place.  This year the timetable has changed and the draw will take place at the October meeting.  CHeck the club website for details.  Remember you must have been a member for a year and have marshalled 2 events this year.

I have an old faithful Garmin 105 which I replaced a few years back with a 205. Fortunately I kept the 105. The 105 had a battery charge of 15 hours, the 205 only 10 hours and now it has died completely and I have binned it and I am using the 105 again for now, but I know it is on its last legs.

When I have been looking at reviews of the current models in Amazon there is a lot of adverse criticism about newer models only having 8 hours charge (this is progress!) and the fact that a number of the models seem to fog up easily even with just normal rain.

Are Garmin still the best on the market or does anybody have a good experience of any other make. Any advice would be appreciated to stop me making another expensive mistake.

CB, is it the watch style Garmins that only have that charge as you can't switch them off?

01/11/2012 at 14:41

Cinders, no, it is the normal Garmin. The old one has 15 hours on one charge which is plenty for me as I run about 4-5 hours per week, so I only needed to charge about every 3 weeks. it just seems crazy to me that it seems to be that every time they bring out a new model they seem to be less efficient.

Morning

Have seen on our website that Gaynor takes out her run/walk group on a Thursday, does anyone know how far/fast she goes?  Planning on yet another attempt at this running malarky!
