A general forum for runners in Thanet
Ed, sorry but I cannot help either. I gave up my subscription a while back as I was only getting for the calendar of races in the end, which of course I can get from the website. Have you tried asking any TRACcie on Facebook if they can do it. I am not on Facebook, but it seems to have more or less put an end to the likes of this forum and our own club one where hardly anybody posts anything nowadays.
Can i just take this opportunity to wish those of you who still drop by here a very Merry Christmas.
There is one set up now guys by a keen person!
Merry Christmas one and all and an injury free New Year!
Cheers, Bill - it's all sorted now. The Thanet 20 is active to non-subscribers as well, so I don't need a special link.
Likewise, have a great Christmas - an injury free 2013 would be good!
very underwhelmed by my new Soleus 1.0 GPS - very fiddly to us, the screen is too small, doesn't beep loud enough. Miss my old Garmin 205!
TT thanks for the heads up on that. As you know I was enquiring if anybody had any advice on alternatives to Garmin. I binned my 205 which had packed up and I am soldiering on with my clunky old 105 which still does the job (for now!)
hope everyone had a good Christmas - i haven't been near my running shoes for 10 days but looking forward to getting back into it. I think when i've financially recovered from Xmas I'll probably get a new Garmin 310 XT or similar
Happy New Year to all, hope to see you again in 2013
Happy New Year Cinders!
Happy New Year to one and all. I am marshalling at Minnis Bay on the 6th and 13th so I expect I will see some of you then.
TT, I have just re-read your last post. I spent ages researching the reviews on Amazon and came to exactly the same conclusion. They have it on offer atr £168 and I have an Amazon voucher coming to me from my Topcashback discounts, so I will probably buy one then, hope the price does not go up in the meantime.
I’ve had a cheaper Garmin 110 for about six months now, and although it works well enough, the battery life isn’t great. And like Bill said, it mists ups. Not the end of the world, but my old foot pod FR50 lasted ages on a button battery.
I'll see you on Sunday, Bill!
Hi all - Phil needs a timekeeper for Sunday's duathlon! If you can help can you let him know please
Club Presentation Night Friday 22nd February - full details on club website!
I have opened a thread for Fosterslaw Kent Coastal Marathon & Half if peeps can go and post in there!
Anybody know anything about "Plantar fasciitis" which I think (self diagnosed) I may be suffering from? After my longer runs I am suffering quite a lot of pain in my right heel (only the right one) which tends to go away after a day or so. It seems to be worse with certain shoes which might indicate it is being aggravated by lack of proper support. Anybody else out there who has experienced it?
Does anybody look at this forum nowadays?
Not sure CB - I pop in every few days to see if anyone else has been on. The one on the website also only gets used rarely.
So where is everybody?
i get the email alerts so pop in to see what is going on, bloody lurgy for me at the moment so not running much
JFDI Yes, I have noticed the TRAC forum has very little traffic too. Some folk post a query or whatever and nobody bothers to reply to them. Anybody else doing Darent Valley on Sunday? I was surprised at how few did Paddock Wood on Sunday last, considering it was a GP and Club Champs. I will need to get up in the dark for Darent Valley as it is an 08.30 start and nearly a one hour's drive away!
