Cricketers is nice on the Green, never eaten there though. If you want a bit quieter and posher food, The White Swan on Old Chapel Street is lovely (good cyder and beer too). There's a Youngs pub (the name of which escapes me) at the top of the high street heading towards Richmond Park - it's nice, open fire, food but really rather expensive (nearly a fiver a pint!). Another nice Youngs pub with food is by the river, called the White Cross but stay downstairs, upstairs it's had the "Youngs Refurb" and looks more like a tea room
Have fun.
