Just had to share my feelings. Marking coursework of bloody incompetent kids. eg - Females have an average height of 6.7 metres therefore are taller than males!
12 down - 16 to go!

ps - disclaimer: not all are incompetent, it's just that the incompetent and lazy are much more memorable!

True!

They don't get much better by the way - I teach post grads and they provide a constant source of amusement to the tutor group and friends!

I'm only part-way through 147 exam papers. Undergraduate nurses. Headaches galore.

I read a statistics coursework recently in which the candidate wrote, with admirable conviction.

'This result proves my hypothesis is true'
('Proves', note!)

And, in the very next sentence, with equal certainty
'This result proves my hypothesis is false'

Just done 170 x 2,500 word essays. I have another batch of 75 x 3,000 worders coming in on Feb 8th.

Oh joy!

you don't like marking them.
Us students don't like writing them.
Surely we could come to some arrangement?

Get another job then and stop whining, it's quite simple.
There are people dying and starving in this world, spare a thought for them.

Well said Clown.
Guess that's put everyone who ever thought they had anything at all to grumble about in their place.
So folks, unless you're dying or starving, no more whining, EVER.

Personally, I love marking coursework. It's a pleasure and a privelege and I wouldn't swap it for anything.

Exactly and don't you hate it when they force all that holiday time on you when you would rather be working.

Now you come to mention it, I do.
Never thought about it that way before.
How lucky we are to have you point these things out to us.

I love my job.

We don't get all that holiday time, that's school teachers.
