Reading the Brighton marathon thread .... its pure comedy gold! I daren't say why for fear of offending the participants but even today people are posting stuff which you just think 'Really???' LOL.
It will be OK as there will be a new one the day after this years race....
David..mock all you want......you haven't done one.....
and you well underachieved in your half marathon.........time is immaterial.......for your age, size and level of fitness........you bombed out in the half
That is true Seren, and above all I failed on rule number 1 of what happens when you are feeling a bit tired/sore/hurting ......... 'man up!' ....... I shall not forget that rule in 6 weeks time though.
Of course where I also went wrong is Im not taking a break for 3 weeks, then doing a 5k run, then booking a sports massage for the following week for all the stress Im putting my body through - seems to work for the Brighton lot.
Seren would an acceptable result be if my marathon time beats that of Poohbears?
I think given shes been training for a year, and Ive only been training for 6 weeks, sounds like a fair deal to me.
To be fair shes back on track now ....... last training run covered 8 miles in just over 2 hours, seems like Im going to have to pull my finger out to catch up!

They're off to see the daughter Snowmaiden this weekend who spent years at Leicester University studying computer game programming. She now works at Sainsburys.
I am cleaning up water from my keyboard now ......... thank you.
OK, here's a suggestion - if you want to laugh at, belittle or otherwise mock other runners perhaps you should at least have the balls to do it on the threads they post on??
Ouch! No way screamapillar ........ its called having tact.
That's not what I'd call it. Tact is keeping your opinions to yourself - makes you a much bigger person.
Oh god, yes Mum, Im sorry.
OK I'll give you that but why say anything at all? Does mocking other people make you feel better about yourself?
It's not remotely admirable in grown men. Trust me.
Was that ...... was that an apology from Screamapillar?
You have to admit the whole thread is amusing, right now theyve all got their numbers and are discussing whether the colours on their bibs clash with the outfits they'll be wearing.
