KK awful news - hope treatment is successful and family comes back stronger for it
Thanks, I wasn't in full control of my emotions yesterday.
Work was productive again today and it's lovely to see the sun out. I do feel so much better with more light. I was never designed to live in a cave, or at the bottom of the ocean.
Not that I 'should' be in control of my emotions. Damn that middle class upbringing that was the early 70s, moving swiftly into the 80's...
'Middle class without money' in my experience, which was a whole different ball game to the new families of the 80's.
Is this a good or bad advert to be invited as a dinner guest? I have no idea.
Right, I'm going into work a bit later as i've got evening bookings. The plan was to run this morning but I think I'll give marathon legs a bit more of a break. So, a walk round the farm in the sun with furface instead.
Another long day and then straight on to a tri committee meeting. Only 2 of our races left. Exe Valley Tri and Exeter University aquathlon.
I've missed my kids bedtime 2 days running now and I hate that. They always stay awake as long as they can waiting for that goodnight cuddle from mum. I love them so much!
At least it's the bank holiday weekend, D working on Sat and Sun but we're all off on Monday so I've suggested that we go to Spitchwick if it's a nice day:
I might even dip my toes in, after I've thrown the kids and dog in of course to test the water.
It's always good fun to watch the cliff jumpers, painful belly flops especially.
Spitchwick sounds fun, looking for a few ideas for the weekend, biggest monsters birthday at the weekend - 11 yrs Need to talk to Mrs WS to see if we should set up FB account for her before she gets to big school!
I've not let my 11yr old have one, she does have an email address though, all monitored by Daddy
Well just looking at the email from my club. We've got a strong ladies team. They've put me on first leg, which is one of the longest and uphill. However, at least i get mine over and done with and I haven't got the pressure of the glory leg.
We've got a strong male team too.
I just went out for a run and it started off sluggish but i forced a bit of pace after the first couple of miles and I think i've got enough of the marathon out of my legs to be ok on Sunday. Cole is benched and D is going to take him to the vets after the weekend .Missed my running buddy!
Whats wrong with Cole? Thanks for the FB update - she has skype - but I've told her the only one that it works on is our laptop , she has an old steam driven laptop that she can use for herself.
Glad the marathon is out of your legs, enjoy the race.
Just entered the Weymouth Sprint Tri - I had to guess at a 750m OW swim time - so picked 35 minutes.
I paced the distance between 2 of the rock groynes at Sidmouth as being about 140/150m so swam 6 'lengths' but didn't touch the rocks and stopped short each time. I took about 25 minutes, but googlemaps came up as 100m between the groynes - so at most I swam 500m - I just hope my guess isn't too far out.
I'm hopeless with distances! Great news on entering, you'll get hooked!
Well a good day at the office for South West Road Runners. I won the first leg, then the other 3 wonderful ladies just extended my lead for an overall win. The men did exactly the same. I think their cumulative marathon time was about 2.37/8 and ours about 2.56? Not sure though until I look when the results are online.
I've got a trophy with a flying pig on it and a bottle of beer. What's not to like
My legs felt like lead all the way round, so it wasn't quick for me as only still 2 weeks out from London, but I wasn't bothered about time I was only interested in being first. A kill is a kill
First is first
Good news for SWRR, glad the old team did well
Above all it was a really fun social day out, that's really why we target relays.
Lovely not having to go to work this morning, I've read half a novel on my kindle this morning already.
2:53:56. I am taking that through osmosis from the rest of the ladies; and I can do that mara time on my own now right?
The second ladies team came in at 3:25.
Go Dame Helen Mirren btw
