How does my brain even make that dream shit up?! And why a mini cooper?

I did it! I bought the Lego Arkham Assylum.

For the children of course, for the children.

So, we've got a James Bond themed party to go to next weekend. D wants me to go covered in gold body paint and he'll just spray his finger gold.

I think not!

No... I think I've chosen to grab my running shoes, not give a shit about expensive 'good looking latest fashion and tech expertise' kit that I don't need, or 'nutrition' and 'hydration' products that con people who are never really going to get to the point of getting any benefit from them; out of a lot more money than a cube of jelly would cost.

What happened to a load of fast and slightly odd club runners churning themselves inside out in worn out Dunlops to win a bottle of red down at the clubhouse on a regular basis?

Still now, the tightly fought and fast local races have no (oh wait)... razamatazz!

Who wanted it all to sell the soul to commercialism anyway? (I know, the people who make heaps of money, it was rhetorical)

(Disclaimer: I didn't actually post 'those were the days', that was an optical illusion)

no I gave up my place, it clashes with our Sidmouth aquathlon and I'm needed there really. Are you doing it? I might drive by to watch the finish after the aquathlon, depending on the kids really.

The wild geese are back on the farm, a breeding pair I think. The geese come here every year to one of the ponds. Gorgeous birds and so graceful in flight (unlike the pheasants!)

yes i am down to do it, haven't done enough training and am coming down with my 6-monthly chest infection so should be fun!

Thank fuck it's Friday.

And the sun is going to shine for Sidmouth. But it always shines when we do our Sidmouth event irrespective of how crap the weather has been otherwise.

I still have to put the race numbers and the wave sheets together and answer a heap of emails, but that can wait until tomorrow. It will get done.

There's an open day in work tomorrow which I would have liked to take the kids to, but the weekend is busy enough so tomorrow I think is just for us. D is off which is good. The girls plus friend are coming to do the results running on Sunday, the incentive is I give them a load of money to spend in the vending machines.

Ok, so I've culled the gold body spray idea for tonight, I then tried on all my cocktail/evening dresses but I'm not in a girly mood. So I'm going to wear a tux and go as Bond.

Had a good run today and my mate had a good bike ride, so we are going out to win next weekend. As long as she doesn't get a puncture or mechanical problems, we're in with a shout I reckon.

The first 'wrongness' I'm prepared to name is that I picked up 'our' hamster an hour ago and my hand still smells of something really revolting.

25 years ago that post would have had a whole different meaning.

Such is life.

No really, rodents smell of acrid piss however good you are with cleaning. This is different, like piss and musk?

I'm conflicted, my wider family mean everything to me.

Just posted this in the FB group and i think it's where I'm at right now:

Well I think I've given enough back today to sport. Spent a couple of hours marshalling a local 10k this morning. I was right next to the canal and a swan with anger issues. He attacked everyone who tried to row past, it was great entertainment. One guy shouted FUCK OFF at him at the top of his voice, his trainer cycling along the path felt obliged to stop and tell me the history of that rower and that swan. Old enemies for sure. D in my absence had filled the house with other people's children, all of whom have moved the outside farm inside. There is mud everywhere. BUT I still mananged to compile the entrants to the kids race we're holding in Exeter in 2 weeks time (aquathlon). See I'm not too shabby for an evil person.
