I think I'm in agreement with those who say the press shouldn't publish; this was a private situation, on private property, and the photos could only have been taken by a telephoto lens.... quite different to if it had been on a public beach.
If you take the stance that anyone in the public eye is fair game, even in a private situation, then they'd have to be on constant guard even in their own homes for fear of some pap with a long lens through the window.
And the French do have quite strict privacy laws which can be applied to anyone in the public eye.... a French lawyer speaking on the beeb today said that, even in a public area, privacy laws would still apply if it was clearly a private situation eg. a celeb relaxing on a public beach with their children.
