Good evening,

I'm off to my wifes work Christmas party next Saturday and i've just found out they have Karaoke!
I've done Karoke once before and loved it.  Sweet Caroline was my song of choice and I nailed it.

What do you recommend I sing?  What is your song of choice?

Oasis, Wonderwall is a candidate so far.

What about Janet Kay Silly Games ?   or if it doesn't have that Bohemian Rhapsody.

Honey by Bobby Golsboro...if you want to end the party !

Daydream Believer could be a possibility.

Bohemian Rhapsody might be a tune too far

Love Shack - B52s, but you have to try and sing all the backing vocals as well to make it really interesting

I sang Final Countdown by Europe the night before the Beachy Head marathon.  I think it helped!

Whatever you do, make sure you hum more than just the chorus to confirm you know how the song goes.  Do you know the middle part of Is She Really Going Out with Him by Joe Jackson?  No, me neither.

If I'm less lose near a karaoke machine (which is rare) I go for Kiss by Prince, Lady is a Tramp and my old Dad's favourite, House of the Rising Sun.

Avoid songs that require some actual vocal ability and range..  thus..  avoid anything by Robbie Williams, for example.   Killing a song such as 'Angels' will be cringing punishment for those who have to listen.

Songs by The Beatles are usually quite easy to sing well..

4 minutes of silence would be my song of choice.

Mainly because I would rather eat glass.

You'd need two of you to do most of them justice though.  It's all about the "oooooh" innit!

(Think I'd go for Bulldog.)

well, Saturday was the misses works party and I was first up to the microphone with a bit of Suspicious Minds by Elvis, followed shortly after with Sweet Caroline and a couple of others; I haven't got a clue what they were but i'm sure I was excellent.

also, i'm never drinking red wine again, ever.

I find 'my ding a ling' by chuck berry goes down well
