No more reading in the bath for you

Btw, FF started this thread http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/forummessages/mps/dt/4/UTN/169288/
(Delayed xpost to Saffy)

ETA - footnotes are apparently split onto another page if you are reading non-fiction books

beebs my Mum absolutely loves her kindle, she is a total convert. She likes it for reading in bed as it is so light to hold when snuggled down. She has been downloading free books and has just re-read Little Women which she hasn't read since she was a girl.

Black Beauty eh?

Beebs, I think there was another thread on this a couple of weeks ago if you can find it. Think Flat Footed started it and there were quite a few opinions given on there.

Its a yes from me, nice to see real people confirming the Amazon reviews.

My dad had one from Father Christmas, and he really rates it. It can feel like a book to hold if you put it in a suitable cover. The display is excellent, but if flashes when you change pages, which I found utterly irritating, but I don't know if you can change that.

The Kindle and iBooks apps on iPad are much nicer to use.

I bought Limpette one for Christmas and I am dead jealous now! It's brilliant. Techno-wise I can't tell you anything cos I'm a bit fick innit about the details, but I know I want one!

I've had mine about a month and I'm seriously smitten

Bought Mrs RK one for Xmas. Fab bit of kit. She gets through 2 or 3 books a week and don't think she'll go to paper again.

Cheap, ney free books, keeps your page, downloadable books, web browserm light, compact - no downsides at all.

Highly recommended.

Having read all the reviews and taking my lead from TP I may purchase one if I manage to stay on the waggon (with no chocolate not booze) for the month of January.

Kazz - any chance you might have yours on you when I see you?

I worked on the premise that all the time I'm spending looking at what I can get then all the time reading will distract me from not drinking
