London 2012 Marathon(s) - Clubhouse

Hi All

Anyone going up to see the marathon(s)? I know there will be loads of people up in Town, but I am really tempted to travel up just to see & experience something (we missed out on tickets unfortunately, and I don't think my 52 minute 10k time qualifies me to take part in an event.....).

Didn't know if anyone had any advice on best points to head for - I've had a look at the route map.

Time: Race starts at 1100. Get there early!
Where? Corner of Friday Street and Queen Victoria Street (there's a pub)

There is a pub called the Watling just by Mansion House tube.

It was a perfect base for watching the women's marathon. It is less than a min walk from seeing runners head down Cheapside and then return past Mansion House 15 mins later; time for a quick pint and then repeat * 4 and then head back to pub to watch the finish
