Michael Burke on radio 5 this afternoon was bloody brillant .Bemoaned the state of news coverage by saying we have become to concerned with the "celeb" culture that spoken about at water coolers and in the pub. That the beeb sometime found itself under pressure to reflect poorer quality news items as they were being reported by the other media outlets
Pointed out that more aid goes to Ethopia now then ever has in the past and more importantly pointed out the 50 shades of Grey was crap and only marginally better than the Dan Brown books
Well worth a listen if you get the chance
Did he say anything that was news to viewers?
Nope just reminded those listening what quality broadcasting is all about.
He used to do some investigative journalism.
His son is the BBC Japan correspondent.
