Mo Farah wins the Europeon 5000m and Tim Hutchins says he can't see why Farah has bothered, as he hasn't acheived anything. Gold medal Tim, Gold medal!

Oh bugger that

Look at this. Its from the Daily  Mail so dont click on anything, but its on Mo's win.

That third photo is unearthly. The second is just weird

The second is a celebration that was 'created' on a league of their own to be used if he won gold at the Olympics! He's obviously practicing his celebrations!

I was too busy looking at the "spilling out of her bikini" photos on the DM right hand Strip of Porn.

Dont look at the Strip of Hate/Porn/Misery/Freaks.

Next you will be reading the comments then your a click away from damnation.

JB, I can only presume that the right hand SoP is actually generated using targetted marketing cookies from each users past browsing history, as all I got was a load of sports stories and some old bird trying to sell me laser eye surgery, not an overfilled bikini in sight !!

They got me bang to rights then!

It's very difficult to comment on RikF/Notts Runners OP without seeing the link to what Tim Hutchins actually said in context. So a pretty pointless post really.

Have to agree can sort of see Tim Hutchins point given Mo's current status,  but it was probably quite a good work out for him and was probably due a nice easy tempo run anyway.

Yes, Grendel that's pretty much how I might have imagined how TH's comment had gone and I agree it was probably a pretty good sharpener for him.

The third photo brings on a massive feeling of "please, eat some food that's a near anorexic look you have there"

Do you get the feeling that Mo is setting himself up for a fall?

29/06/2012 at 11:03
Why do you say that? The greater the risk the higher the rewards. We musn't forget that he will be fighting against an army of Kenyans and Ethiopians and any medal will be a fantastic success for Mo.

I'm a big fan of Mo and I hope he smashes it at the Olympics but I hope he doesn't get too carried away with his celebrity.  Showboating at the end of a UK trials 1,500 heat because he knows a lot of the crowd have turned up just to see him wasn't the greatest of moves IMO.

29/06/2012 at 11:30
I like Mo too, but agree that what he did at the trials wasn't great, a bit disrespectful to the other runners, made me cringe ...
I did think the comment on Eurosport about the 5000 was odd, he wa defending his title, adding another title to his career record, having a good run out, and not doing anything detrimental to his Olympic cause .. it's notlike it's a marathon ..

I must admit I hadn't been aware of Mo doing the "MoBot" until I looked it up. I read last Saturday he was due to run in the trials and wondered why I hadn't seen him. I couldn't find any actual coverage of the 1500m heat so can't comment directly. I'm sure Mo will learn from the criticism he received.
He may have misjudged the reaction but I don't really think his "celebrity" will affect his chances of gold in London.
