Moved to Newbury-is there unserious running life here? - Clubhouse

i'm running Berlin in septemeber...but just off to france for a week on hols,would love to meet some fellow forumites for 10 min miling...we moved down here-newtown-in april,but have lost access to the site from work and have had trouble getting broadband to fire up most of the summer...

I live in Didcot, Oxfordshire, which isn't overly far from you.

There is an Oxford Social each month - there will be a thread about venue, time etc on this forum.

I don't know much about what goes on in Newbury running-wise. I know Compton Harriers are quite a friendly bunch of runners and usually have a drink together afterwards. This is a village 10miles from Newbury. I grew up there and ran with them for a while. About the same speed as you - they are a small club but cater for all abilities.

Sorry I can't be of much help. Maybe see you at a race before too long?

Hiya Alex long time no see, Compton are a nice small friendly club. And they train in a lovely area along the Ridgeway.

Thanks for doing the link, Nicko. I'm no good at doing them! I'm useless in fact!

Go try Compton out, Alex. They are a nice bunch and in the Summer their runs go up on to the Downs and sometimes the Ridgeway!
