Phil your Club has upset some of the girls in your running your Club!

10/06/2013 at 22:55

I don't like to see the girls upset!

Have a look at your 'New designed Web-site'  and tell me what's wrong with it.

The girls may not run in the Olympics or run a 3 minute mile, but they do represent your running club very well.

Anyway just saying

A three minute mile would be good going

Have I got the right website? Looks ok to me. What about Lydia?

Phillip, you are clearly the only representative of your esteemed club, where ever that may be, and obviously have a hand in training, PR, web development, presumably secretarial duties, photography, report writing - hell, I bet you're even president of the world.

Surely you of all people should be able to organise a three minute mile from one of your females?

Though why this is worthy of an entire thread as opposed to a PM, I'm not entirely sure.  You must be dead important, Mr Pub.

Okay, which club is this? I googled and found someone of his name on a website for Steyning.

This is one the most intriguing thread titles for a long time. What has Mr Pub done to upset the girls?

I think Karen's point is that the website has a gallery of 'photos of our athletic endeavours' comprising solely of men.  It's the one of Phil in his shorts that's upsetting the girls, obviously.

But they're clearly not biased, they run at Ladywell track, for a start.  In Catford.  Oh dear.

Those shorts eh?

11/06/2013 at 09:28
I'm confused.
What has Phil done wrong?
11/06/2013 at 09:49

Bloody hell, those are some quite striking shorts.

I think it is because the page design is blue (for boys) instead of pink (for girls).

11/06/2013 at 09:55

So the website needs more photos of girls in skimpy shorts?

I'll bring it up at the next committee meeting.

That would be a whole new thread, but top of the charge sheet would be "running in loud shorts in a built-up area."

Starting to worry about Karen, all the threads on sex, and now she wants photos of fit girls in skimpy Lycra .....

.... Anything you want ot fess up Karen ?

Why is the membership for women £10 less?

Good question.  I believe it's because club membership opens up fewer race options for women compared to men, e.g. we don't have enough competitive female members to field teams in the national/regional athletics leagues, which are a relatively large drain on club funds.

Karen, I hope you will be writing some strongly worded e-mails to the Race For Life people later, as there doesn`t seem to be any men allowed to run at their events!
11/06/2013 at 12:52

Karen does have a point though. The gallery may be a good advert for what goes on at the pointy end of competition but it's not as representative of overall membership activities as it could be.  And I do have some input so I will be having words.

But the shorts are staying.

Karen has a point?

Has the world suddenly entered the Twilight Zone?
