Frowning and shaking her fists? No, why would she do that? hmmm... She was nibbling on a percy pig though, most odd.
I do apologise for this - but see for VLM is it better to book a hotel near the finish or the start...is it hard to get to the start on your own steam...and do any of you lovely people have a hotel recommendation as I'm trying to get it booked soon (also is Blackfriars a good option as there is a good price on the premier inn there...)
...as you were

Chuck I've near booked a hotel for VLM as it's always been to expensive and just abused friend and family and there sofa's. I wouldn't limit yourself to somewhere near the course through as the tube system is normally very good at getting you there. So I'd look at places near tube stations first and take it from there.
coco exsellent news mate and stuff.
GFB there's a school that does B&B (in parents' homes, not in schools) for £50ish per person, plus they do a pasta party. I'll see if I can dig out the details. Some of them are freightfully posh!
Gah, forum broken again. I started a thread on it a couple of years ago, but I can't see beyond the first page of the threads I started, I get a runtime error message when I click the "see all of them" button. I'll have a search of my e-mails when I get home tonight.
Come on Mini
Posh people in london who would have throught it?
MrGFB and BDG and LMF are coming with me...the premier inn in Blackfriars is working out around £800 for 4 nights (Fri to Tues...we want to see a wee bit of London when we're there...well I'll have seen quite a bit! They want to see some more!)
Afternoon all - survived the treadmill test...interesting and showed me where I need to improve to get speed and endurance and a bunch of conditioning stuff to do.
(((gfb))) well done, it all sounds really interesting, a little scary maybe, but still really good
I am totally and utterly pi$$ed off, and I don't know why I bother
(((Bookie))) Aw, what's the matter?
GFB - if you can find somewhere on the tube map that should do you fine. Getting to the start is easy and free for runners.
You may as well go to Chandos when you've run though, so being near the finish isnt that good - you have more time and you'll prolly want to watch the race for a bit, chat, rest, eat and not rush back to your hotel.
I have swumbled
What's up Bookster?
Unreasonable demands, nothing's good enough, constantly being monitored... all in all, it's a bit carp
That would pee me off too
passes pot of pins and small stuffed doll to bookie.
(you just need to draw a face on the doll.)
GFB, I better be seeing you in Chandos after VLM!
As for hotels, I agree that anywhere near a tube station would be fine. You might want to consider beng a little out of the city if you want cheaper accommodation. You will still be able to get back in quickly for your sight seeing.
I have swumbled and gymed and am sitting at home debating whether to open a bottle of red or white while the pork and chive toad in the hole cooks
