Swimming is a good idea but only if we are properly prepared.  Water temperature is around 4 degrees at the moment so we would need lots of warm clothes, hot tea or coffee and maybe a few hot water bottles afterwards.  I doubt I would be in for more than 5 min.  If any of you think you can do 1500m then good luck.  I'll be on the beach watching

SC - I'll be in a wetsuit. (with socks and gloves). It looks like it might be a spring tide so if it's rough I'll only be doing what I can.

Some of the people I swim with are still swimming long distances.

13/02/2013 at 18:32

It depends how often you go in.  Some of my friends are doing Ice Miles without wetsuits but they tend to swim every day.  I'm only getting in once a fortnight at the moment and it makes a big difference.

I'm not trying to put anyone off or say that they can't do it but I'm trying to be responsible.  I've seen people nearly get into trouble when they have been goaded into going beyond their capabilities.

Hey DS, you should wave at these bears - they wave back every time.

I've changed three of the five blown bulbs in the house.  One I can't change as I'm not quite tall enough, even standing on a chair.  The other is a fluescent tube so I need to go a bit further afield than the supermarket to find a replacement

13/02/2013 at 18:59

I've just replaced one with a bulb with one that takes it's energy efficiency to extremes by providing the least light I've ever seen from a bulb.  Time to restock I think.

13/02/2013 at 19:07

My low energy light bulbs I bought are brighter than the incadecent ones that they replaced, despite being of a lower equivalent wattage.

Don't even by Phillips low energy light bulbs.  They are awful.  Most other brands are better.

By the way, Caz, will pay you for Legends on the day if that's OK as I've not got round to it.

Thats fine LR.  I'll be needing the cash after a fantastic wedding the previous day

Cheers LR,  some excellent waving qualities there.

Loving the waving bears.

Have got then romantic M&S meal deal ready for tomorrow evening, Mini has her own special M&S meal too. Poor Mini2 has his jabs tomorrow so he'll probably be a bit tetchy with us all.

Waves to SOLB!

Oh I hate baby jabs KJ

We have a voucher for a really nice restaurant and we booked a couple of weeks ago so we're going out for VD for a change

Today it snowed again.

Today it took me 2 1/2 hours to do a 35 minute journey home.

These 2 facts may well be related.

Edited cos i can't spell journey

The zip on my winter coat has broken, luckily it went when I got home from work and bent down to pick up the post off the doormat.

*Worries about GFB going out for VD*

That meant something else in my day...

13/02/2013 at 21:51

I remember having a zip break in the back pocket of my tracksters when I got home from a run in the snow once.  Trouble was my key was inside and I had to take the tracksters off to be able to force the zip open.

Well that's what I told the judge anyway.
