I heard that alcohol slows the metabolism and fat burn so that's my motivation to keep off the stuff - it might last a day, a week or the month but so far I've been ok too.

I've fallen off. Went out for a curry with a group of friends and I just couldn't say no to a cobra. Then as I'd fallen off anyway there was no point in sticking to just one, so I had another. And I'm now on the whiskey but I'll add another week to the end of January as penance.

My beloved Liverpool won 5-1 so i behaved.

This week i have :-

1. Watched them get stuffed by Man City
2. Driven to Manchester and back for a 90 minute meeting (7hrs driving)
3. Dealt with Agency Worker Regulations BS (dont ask)
4. Sat next to my lovely lady (keeping one eye on the footy) whilst she enjoyed a crisp pinot !
5. Ignored the texts from my buddies to join them at the pub.

6. And what "Almost" broke me was 2 hours of being dragged round the shops with said lovely lady this afternoon !

Now "Enjoying" a fruit tea !

This is actually getting easier

Wow. Survived going to the Rugby last night without the customary Guiness! Now sat watching more rugby still without beer, and also managed to go for a slow plod earlier. Day 7 going well so far.

Two hours of tkd and then post Christmas house strip down followed by lots of rationalisation. Good day for the charity shops and re-cyclers! Wanted to run today buit head played common sense card. LSR tomorrow might mean just an 8. Jaggy,DK et al, I'm in The Marriott Th and Fri night, staying with big bro Sat and flying back Sun. Memorial service on Fri morning so looks like Saturday morning os best best bet.

Wagon is still rolling for me, and so far no real temptation.... Liquorice and Peppermint tea is my poison of choice this evening, and now off to bed to get some sleep before a very early 12-13mile run round the woods with the dog tomorrow....
