Reminds me of a cold frosty morning, playing football in Palmer Park, and a ball hitting squarely.......

very similar happened in a rugby game I was playing in many years ago - 2 opposing centres hit each other at full tilt on our guy caught the opposite one's knee in the nuts.  Les went down like a brick and had to crawl off the pitch in agony - as he was doing our skipper Roy, (and Les's best mate) just walked over to him and said "see, I told you not to wear that leotard"...

Les eventually had to have one nut removed as it was badly damaged

Taken from the BBC website - "An accidental knee caught me. I could feel I wasn't right, but I managed to stay on for 20 minutes until [the coach] Tony took me off."........that must have been more difficult than normal !

I was watching Embarressing Bodies a few months ago and there was a young rugby player who had a Prince Albert. During the game he was 'tackled' and the piercing got caught and ripped away from him casuing a bigger hole in his helmet...ouch

I would humbly suggest that playing a contact sport like rugby while wearing a Prince Albert is just asking for trouble

without a doubt and it is actually illegal to play the game wearing piercings unless they are "adequately" protected.  they are supposed to be removed as are finger rings.   although I'm not sure how many refs would have the bravado to walk into a changing room and ask to check who's got a PA.....

*trivia alert*

It's also illegal to play in an underwired bra (if you happened to be playing womens rugby)

If anyone is found to be wearing a PA, the match officials should pull him off at half time.

Maybe this Saturday when the ref asks us for a "stud check" it's not just our boots he will be inspecting.
