I love German breakfast! Also with ham and pickles. And I especially like the way in Germany you have to get all of the jars out of the fridge and put them on the table, even if you have already decided which one you want, and then just put them all back unopened after breakfast (but at no other mealtime).

LOL true Literatin, The German like their breakfasts. it's quite popular to go out for Breakfast on Sundays. There are places who do amazing breakfast buffets with everything you could possibly want. Yes even sausages but no beans lol

Jindalee, we currently live in the Pfalz on the Deutsche Weinstrasse between Mannheim and Kaiserslautern,  and work in Kaiserslautern. Have also lived in  Hessen, Baden, and 16 years in Bayern.

Love it here, great wine, lovely countryside, super tri club and some really good friends at my German Shepherd club. We've just come back from outdoor swim training with the tri club. I will be visiting up your way in late August, taking our dog Charly to a show in Remscheid.

Quark! Heart it. Us Austrians copy (aka you copy us) all things German quark-iness.

I've never found it in uk.....can you get it here?

Kaffeeg, yes you can get it almost in every big supermarket. I can def get it at Tesco and Sainsburys. Heard Waitrose have it too but haven't checked this. Its only the plain, low fat variety but you can play with it to suit your taste

oh and you want to look for it in the cheese aisle (it's normally with the continental stuff/cheese). You will be disappointed if you look for it in the yoghurt section
