Ooh, it's like a link but without the clickability

Parcel was a new amplifier to (temporarily) replace the one that packed up just out of warranty, so quite exciting really I'll now get teh old one fixed for 'rocking in the gym' purposes

yep. Interesting that they say in the tender docs that it is being built to reduce their dependance on undergraduates and to attract more overseas students

Little Story...*Whilst in Ol Gym Sauna was chating to french student studying at local Uni. Asking him what he was studying and why in UK. *Media Studies was his reply, and his parents could nt afford to send him to Uni at home but he got an Overseas grant (from Us) to study in this that one out????

Morning Everyone....I went for a swim lastnight as am not allowed to run/cycle for 10 days,(No I didnt ask time limit for swimming... )it was only to keep said friend whom broke her back company. My First proper session since last September. So went in slow you do.! However was told that next week i have to move up a lane (am I going next week ). Butttt! I did find it painful on the back after we did a head up session for OW swimming...

I am looking at a *free* bathroom suit in granite grey today. So its either that or house insurance claim. !!!!!!!

(Thanks for reminding me M.ouse, yes I am.

Yeah, that whole 'grant' thing is really odd; apparently lots of British students go to Holland for the same reasons. Makes no sense (in fact, it makes no sense to deny grants to students; on average, they earn more, so pay more tax throughout their lifetime and we're never going to compete with the Far East dollar a day economies...but increasingly, we can't compete at the high-skill stuff either; sorry, hobby horse...)

Pet peeve time (sorry!)

The expression you're looking for is 'heart-rending'; rendering is pebbledash on a house.

Peddling is selling something; pedalling is riding a bike.

I feel just a little better now

Afternoon all - It's early Friday with which I'm going to cut the grass. Does life get any more exciting than that?

Good run through the mud last night along the river/canal, I think my lungs are finally back to capacity so park run here I come tomorrow.

11/05/2012 at 16:26

Haven't run for ages and not likely to do so this weekend either

Off to reading tonight to enable an early start to WEMBLEY for the FA Trophy final

11/05/2012 at 16:59

Musky - I hope you have better luck than me. I've been 3 times - FA Vase Final, Cup semi-final and Championship playoff final and still not won a game. The only time my team has been there and won I was away at University doing my finals.

12/05/2012 at 18:55

I did go and Park Run and it was much better than last week but I still need to find 20s to beat my pb. Hopefully when the course dries out and I can run in my road shoes again that will do the job.

Musky - Sorry to see you have as much luck as me in the big city.

Ouch, 20 sec shy...

Even Crashie must admit the wendyball was quite exciting today!

Well perhaps not for musky....

Wendyball..? Meh, didn't see it but the irony of City scoring two goals in the last minutes to win the league and deny United, who had once won the European Five a Side league cup trophy shield in the same way, wasn't lost on me.

As an aside, can someone explain to me why leagues (and in proper sports  too!) now have mini cup competitions at the end of them, while cup competitions generally start with mini leagues? Nonsense, I tells ya!

Money mainly but I do like the playoff system in the foorball league. It keeps the interest going in the season a lot longer than it would normally go. And for those people who moan about finishing 3rd but losing in the playoffs I just say - tough you knew the rules at the start of the season.

I'm finally back up to speed 6.5miles at at least 8:30s this evening. Tewkesbury here I come.

Morning gentlefolk!

Big problem in rugby at the moment, with Cornish Pirates (yay!) competing against London Welsh in the Championship final; Pirates can't be promoted to the Premiership as their ground isn't up to standard; Welsh can't either, but they think they can and will challenge the decision in court if they win; meanwhile Bristol, who could've been promoted and won the league (I think) lost in the semis so are staying down. To cap it all, the ground requirements which apply to the Championship clubs don't apply to the existing Premiership clubs; had, for instance, Wasps (boo!) gone down, they couldn't have come back up with their existing ground.

It's a farce, I tells ya!

In other news, well done on the running Lexers and Ant, and particularly well done on torturing small children, Lex!

Morning All....

Crashie....I had planned other forms of exercise torture...but we ran out of time & children ran out of energy.

I am now intalks with the other Audi Insurance company against said footballer. Have passed their details onto mine and we will join forces to get redress. A United front against Stoke City guy.!!
