+1 on the thanks. This challenge made a big difference to me, getting me out of the door when I would otherwise have taken a CBA day, and adding a mile or so here and there.

Would be up for another challenge, perhaps at the beginning of the run-up to Autumn mara season? (Me, I only run halfs, but the idea is the same...because in the challenge the aim is milage, focusing on easy miles (hopefully) minimises injury risk and easy miles are a good way to build a base. Or something.)

What about an August Swim/Bike/Run challenge? That way the Triathletes can get involved too - but you don't have to be capable of all three, you just do the mileage or distances and add them in.

Think they've already got something similar going, Vixx, here.

The other thing is this is well into the race season so most will have raced or be in taper madness by August

Fairy nuff.

Just thought if it was a distance challenge again then even if we don't win in one category, we might win two of three, or the overall distance, rather than have it on a point-based system.

X-post with FF.

Right. Fair enough.

Let's think of something, I think if we have this as a winter challenge then we could have something else as a summer challenge, maybe in that post spring mara slot, where people are starting to build up again for autumn races?

I dunno, let's throw all the ideas in and come out with the most popular one.

August is good. The same format as the January challenge is good with me but if anyone can come up with something a bit different that could work too. She says, helpfully.

August would normally be a bonza month for me too, but will be recovering from the Lakeland 50 - could we start from the last weekend in July instead?

Most of the US is pretty unpleasant for running in August... sounds like a good plan!

Family holidays mean August tends to be a month I give myself a bit of a rest so not great for me but never mind I'll just come in for next Jan.

How about adding a rule that runs have to be run within a  maximum of 70m distance from the coast to count
