Saw Silver Linings Playbook tonight, loved it!
De Niro was really good and Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were brilliant - I think she deserved that Oscar.

Glad you enjoyed it Xine. I watched Wild Bill last night. A bit like Nil By Mouth with a splash of Django. A bit depressing at the start but ended up being really good. Good film to watch on DVD.

Charlie Creed Miles put in the kind of great performance that never gets considered for an award(as far as I know)

Who is Charlie Creed?

I saw Requiem for a Dream last night.

Fuck. Me.

Possibly the most depressing film i've ever seen.

I watched Life of Pi ...... totally nothing in it for mathematicians like myself. Felt royally ripped off.

cloud atlas is the best film ever.

Charlie doesn't seem to agree Mr Abides. Will have to watch it for myself one day.

Saw 7 Psychopaths last night. Good film4 version of the American genre. Liked Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell and Chrstopher Walken and a real treat to see Tom Waits in a small role too..

it isn't really. but it is so silly and bonkers it's impossible not to love.

apart from the people who hated it. which will be everyone. but i loved it.

Argo is out on DVD already, that was quite speedy! I've heard good things about that so will try to watch it over the weekend.

I saw this on the Guardian Running Blog the other day, anyone seen any of the films on the list? http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/the-running-blog/2013/feb/18/10-best-running-movies

I've only seen Forrest Gump and Run Fatboy Run. Can't believe they left out Run Lola Run, I love that film

the dude abides wrote (see)

cloud atlas is the best film ever.

I do want to see that. Tom Hanks is long overdue a good film, I hope this is it!

My favourite on that list is The loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. Had a big effect on me when I saw it decades ago. One of the reasons why I run.

I'll have to put that one on my LoveFilm list

I thought I had seen Marathon Man, but I mixed it up with The Running Man. One of those terrible films that are a good alternative to watching Come Dine With Me when I'm stuck on the sofa with flu/hangover

The Marathon Man is a really good film. Dustin at his beat and Larry Olivier at his most sinister. Is it safe??

side effects is a proper nasty dirty film.

i'm not sure why the pre-pubescent cavegirl had such large breasts, but I enjoyed The Croods anyway.
