Anyone up for it?
Well after the Kimmy kanter on Tuesday... the handbrake snapped. Just as i was facing uphill, at a junction, with several cars behind me..
So wednesday I booked it in at the garage for Today. Seemed a good idea. Todays was a decent forecast to cycle the 25/30 mile round trip to work and back.
Then on the way back I got a phone call.
"You sound out of breath"
"Yeah I'm cycling back from work"
"Sorry Mate, but you'd best be used to it, cos your car won't be ready today. I've had to order some extra parts, which won't be here till tomorrow afternoon."
Have you seen tomorrows forecast?
Piss..istantly raining, heavily, with thunder and lightning
Oh well... I guess it'll be... an experience?
LOL CJ - ignoring yourself is quite a thing
GN - toughen up man, whats up with you
I do believe the expression if MTFU darling!
GN - sorry sweetie. JFDI then.
Whose Porkrunning tomorrow and where? I'm not sure yet.
Anyone seen/heard from Sheis or Haile lately?
I'm looking forward to the Damflask Relays too! It's looking like our Vets A team is a serious challenge for our Senior A team - could be a head to head with me n CJ ! Up the old birds!!!
400m swim time down to 7.18. Pleased with that, only a couple of seconds off, but each time I time trial my time has come down so I'm going the right way! Aiming for 6.** by Christmas. On the down side my running pace is going down he swanny as I've not been able to train due to my knee. Ah well. Dambuster tomorrow - my first Oly - the competion's gonna be tough too as it's a world qualifier. Gonna treat it like a first marathon and just recce it. Looking forward to it actually - know I'm gonna panic in the swim, but I've read Chrissie Wellingtons top tips for novices so I'll sit at the back on the outside out of harms way. Should be able to make up a few places on the bike and run with any luck, but I'll be happy just to complete it and notch it up to experience then I can maybe go for a category place next year.
Yeah I thought Sheils and Haile had been abit quiet. True love eh? And Stu's fallen off the edge of the planet! Well, not exactly, I'll see see him onSunay, but you know what I mean.
Good luck to anyone porkrunning tomoz!!!

Good luck everyone this weekend.
Especially Joe Hart.
Looks like our Sheils is in the money!! Top!
Ace morning marshaling the Edale kiddies and adult fell races - the weather stayed fine which was a bonus! Poor wee lass at the back of the junior race - fighting back the tears - I asked her if she was ok and she'd been pushed over and twisted her ankle. I suggested I walk her back, but she was a real trooper and wanted to finish,so I held her hand and she valantly strode forth - even managing to run/hobble the last 10 metres to the finish line and a huge cheer and round of applause. Warms the cockles of your heart dunnit? I scarpered before her parents could bollock me for not giving her a piggie back straight back - but you can't quash such will and determination can you?!!! Bless her .
