Thanks for that Mozzy . Went to the pool today for a dip so think I might go do the run on friday depending on how I feel after a week on nights

Who's this Riggsy fellow? Just coming on the forum cos we've got an Olympic torchbearing triathlon winner on the forum.

Then again thats only Moz so that can't be the reason.

Glad ur ok and back running.

Well done BB for doing Hathersage.

Great news Riggsy. Been wondering how things were after we saw you at Hope.

Cheers Didds. Was a tough course but just ran steady, as I'm still in the early days of my come back plus I didn't want any injuries so close to the HH. My pal Zoe smashed her 44 mins from last year & won the local lady in 39:55 beating a big name in the local running circle  I did it in 59:30, which is a slow still but hey ho. I've had two years of being at this pace but have had enough & am wanting to get faster now.

Yeah it's only me - I've not made the front pages yet!! (But I will )

Top job BB - and excellent re Zoe - is that our Zoe?

LOL Moz you probably will be on the front pages - but possibly not for your sporting achievements
11/07/2012 at 07:01

Well at my age it's defo not gonna be page 3. Unless it's a very long page!

Afternoon

Nice short run of around 1.8 miles this afternoon when I got up after sleeping off my night shift. Legs felt fine, nice to run in the sunshine and not the rain

Got my work rota for the next few weeks and will hopefully be doing my comeback race at hallam parkrun on 18th august (the first saturday I am not working aprt from this saturday) so plenty of time to get fit again.

Yesterday ordered the new competative runner by Bob Glover from amazon for all off £2.80 (inc p+p) secondhand of course. Had this book in the 90's and found it a great help.

Have fun if your out training later

Not yet but do keep trying to recrute her. She's not really a fell runner & did it normal trainers but Ive said she should do more.

Riggsy...let me know when you're ready for a run in the peak. Remember I'm not very fast lol

Ran the HH route again with Isobel today, though I went wrong a couple of times but soon got us back on track. Then after lunch the sun came out, so then the bike did & I went for a steady ride up the valley. Bit windy though

BB thanks for the offer but it will be a while before I am out in the peaks.

Nice day so may go for a run later.

Nice evening was going to do 2 - 2.5 miles ended up doing 3.2 as I felt quite good.

Planning on 3 miles or so tommorow.

Enjoyed watching the end of the tour today - inspiring stuff

12/07/2012 at 21:52

Oh bugger. Just realised last night, 10 days to go to Hathersage over 2 months since I've swum and 3 weeks + since I've been on the bike - which is why it was out on commuting duty today

Low experience = less pressure?

Looks like I'll be just pottering round and enjoying the experience?

I momentarily considered giving it a miss... but i can get something out of it if only the experience. I have to do it anyway, as I've been beaten to my 1st tri by my 10 year old. He got involved via his school with the TATA 'Kids of Steel' and came home Wednesday with a swim hat, T shirt and medal Not bad for a kid who hates sport.

Morning all

Good luck Gary

Just go and enjoy it and learn from it with the technical things like transitions.

Glad the 10yr old enjoy his first tri.

Hoping to get out today (hopefully in the dry) for 3 miles or so. (can't wait to get the runs upto 6 mile mark) then watch the tour for a bit after picking youngest up from school.

Morning.

GN - young uns and sport = a great combination.

In Newcastle yesterday (first ever visit) and got to walk across Tyne bridge

Morning PJAZ

off for a run in a bit before it starts to rain

seriously thinking of going to London to watch the women's marathon. Would cost around 18.50 on megabus to go at stupid o'clock in the morning. (just need to swap shifts at work first)

13/07/2012 at 12:04

Morning all not going to hathersage today as I decided to do a brick session yesterday so did 12.5 miles on the bike followed by a 4.5 miles run rest day today then going to have a nice easy week before the HH

13/07/2012 at 12:08

Nice session foofighter

Went out for a run decided to make it my "long" run as I am working overtime on saturday night (kerching!). 5 miles including a nice long climb up from the canal to south anston. Legs felt ok on the climb if anything it was the breathing that went a bit. Finished feeling good (probally the slowest I have ran that route though). And it didn't rain !

13/07/2012 at 16:20

Decided to run parkrun in morning not going to push to hard, setting of at a nice easy pace and maybe kick on a bit near on ruslings road the second time but willing to hold back if need be. Will be a PW for the race but who cares

13/07/2012 at 16:32

Cycled the bike route of the hilly today on tired legs in the wind & rain but glad I got out, as I missed the tnt ride last night due to a funny reaction to some meds. Rest day for me tomorrow & then also an easy week ready for the hilly.

Think I'm gonna get pissed tonight
