Helllloooooooooooooooooo! Bobbed on to read Gaz's race report which as it turns out is uncharacteristically brief!!!

First sub 40 10k for me (39.38) and CJ is getting ever closer (41.24) - she'll be knocking 'em out in 12 months or so!!!

Is it worth me scrolling back or is it pages and pages of the usual utter, utter shit?

Stu and Ruth feature in the current edition of the FRA mag - haven't seen it coz I've let my membership lapse - trying to get my hands on a copy!

Hope all well with all you folks - I'll try and keep up. And promise not to mention the 'T' word !

21/11/2012 at 12:56
Mozzy not werth looking back most of it is uter shit writen mainly by me You can use the T word for me and even the B word will not ofend the S word may be pushing it though

Foo the 'T' word mozzys alluding to is something to do with swimming then cycling then running.

Can't mention the 'T' word. Shhh!
21/11/2012 at 16:25

Oh, that ‘T’ word.. Thought it was ‘cos she qualified for Turkey?

And not just at Xmas....

21/11/2012 at 20:04

go on runningowl say the T word you know you want too , there is a myth that if you say the T word three times standing at the side of a bike your clothes turn to neoprene and your shoes grow cleats then you start talking about sprints Olly's and even long and middle distance then you go over to the T forum and want to be a pirate

21/11/2012 at 22:09

Twat twat twat . . . nope . . . nothings happening!!

Bet you didn't all know that when Gaz does a track session his head steams.

Ok I'm only talking about running so I won't tell you about the s**m that I did, I'll just tell you about the track session. Pyramid 400/800/1200/1600/1200/800/400. Not particularly fast and lovely long recoveries - in fact because it's the soft season (sorry, 'T' word term) we thought we may take a flask and some mini rolls for the recovery periods. All in good sesh - keeping the legs ticking over at any rate!!!

Can't decide re Turkey Gaz N - it's gonna be hideously expensive and revoltingly hot and I really want to try an qualify for the world champs and all the qualifiers are in the same month!

Who's doing the PP? Got a slightly iffy knee so I may be support crew!

22/11/2012 at 12:54
Not realy the T word I had in mind Mozzy
im in for the PP cant be arsed with Bollsover this year
22/11/2012 at 15:46

Bolsover is a hideous 10k - the only person I know who likes it is ET!!!

22/11/2012 at 15:56

PP doesn’t appeal, but I fancied Bolsover. However I’ve something else lined up. The Garmin upload should be interesting

Bolsover 10k recently voted the most boring 10k in the uk. It is supposed to be really bad.

Never ran it myself so can't say. Reviews on RW really good but no one I know, bar ET, has had good things to say about it.

M.I.L. lives well within half a mile of the start. So it could be a 'handy' one for me next year.
Take the family down for a pre Xmas visit and I get a run.

22/11/2012 at 19:09
Didnt think Bolsover was all that bad just cant be arsed to do a 52 mile round trip when there is a perfectly good 10k in the PP a few miles from home
22/11/2012 at 23:11

Let's face it - all 10k's are pretty hideous aren't they?!! I quite liked Dewsbury though - only down side you can't see the finish until you're practically on top of it!!!

Got the wettest ever last night running home from work. Sloshing along in the dark on the trail with trainers full of water, wind, dark and belting it down with rain.......happy racing to anyone racing this weekend. Probably do a 10 miler on Sunday might go round the reservoirs at Bamford. Have a good weekend.

Woo hoo! Run chat!

Agree. I struggle to think of a NICE 10k. Around here, they`re shockers. I`ve not done Bolsover 10k , for the record, but I did do it when it was Bolsover Castle (11k then 10k in 2010). I liked first one because I did it with OH as her first race after baby#1 and it finished in the castle courtyard! Amazing!

Second one I paced Scott and Rich to a good time and they seemd to enjoy it but start and finsih were altered to make it 10k. I`d put it above PP for organisation and value in LOTS of ways. And you would struggle to find a bigger shithole than Dewsbury; run past a load of derelict factories, get to Batley, and then run back past the same crap. I also like that race, Moz. It shows that scenary is rarely a factor in a 10k! Ditto Dronny, one of my faves but little to look at apart from houses. And Lord Mayor`s, what an expensive mess!

Not entered owt, yet, but I did win my last race afterall!

23/11/2012 at 22:44

Ha ha yeah! You defo don't notice the scenery during a 10k - as Gaz keeps reminding me - I even missed the Abbey in the Abbey Dash! Gimme a flat as a pancake course, no wind and the finish line visible from a kilometre away and I'm happy. Well I'm not, coz 10k's ARE hideous aren't they?!!!

24/11/2012 at 08:31
No, I quite like 10k but 5k is pain personified.

Freezing run to work today........18 miles clocked this week and even did a 6mm in mile intervals yesterday, that felt tough for me All the best for you athletes on the weekend I shall be doing a lsr on sunday with all me mates, well my MP3 player anyway......

Off the front page!!!

Any PP reports?More PBs? I think I`m the only person in Sheff to not love that race, but don`t get me started on the problems of when I have entered it, or the organiser!

I`m doing a bit of running after the SF, very methodically building up, but just running rather than any tempos, hills, etc. However, might look at some track stuff in the New Year. Got a deferred entry for Dewsbury so I might aim for that or the Inskip HM.
