Socks as glove puppets - Clubhouse

We were playing with a friend's mitten last night (not a lot else to do here), doing a ventriloquist act with it. Then realised it looked like ... we weren't sure, something we remembered from our childhood. There was a TV programme in the 1970s with an animal (dog?) made out of a sock. And it talked in a funny voice. (Well, you would if you talked through a sock).

What was the programme? and who was the ... dog(?)

Not sure about a dog. Wasn't Lambchop the lamb a sock though?

Rings a bell from some nostalgia show from a few years ago.

Yep - and it was still on in the US a few years ago. Embarrassingly I fell about laughing at it...

Those were the days when TV was good .... and before TV presenters were sacked on a daily basis (just been catching up on UK news. Your news is a lot more exciting than ours. Here it's just fish, fish, fish and more fish.)
