I don't know anything about legal process in SA so from that perspective the case is quite interesting. The bail hearing goes into so much detail - things I would have thought would be saved until trial.

Didn't think they did trial by jury in SA?

It's only a bail hearing for Dog's sake....

I am very aware of that, but thanks for sharing all the same. I was asking after Grendal mentioned the jury.

I was surprised by that too xine. Particularly since the incident happened so recently.

Well if there is no jury - at least he won't get a bunch of fecking eejits like the ones on the case of Chris Huhne wife - discharged for being too thick!!!  (or at least that is the subtext)

He will get bail, yes.

Reminds me of a story from South Africa's 'Mail and Guardian' newspaper.

"Today a man went mad in the streets of Johannesburg, until he was shot dead by a passing church-goer"

Cos they are a bunch of talentless murderers

Sticking him in front of the judge with his head bowed down and a hundred cameras flashing away feels like being put in a modern day stocks. Guilty or not that isn't right. Those South Africans are fucked up.

Of course lets not forget that what is not in dispute by anyone is that Oscar randomly fired into a bathroom knowing someone was inside but not having a clue who it was (except deep down we know, he knew who it was).

So that kind of mitigates the cameras for me......

Cos they're a bunch of murdering bastards?

Unfortunate lyrical choice in the circumstances.

He won't get bail.
