If the invivtation says 2pm, does that generally mean wedding is due to begin at 2pm so turn up beforehand, or does it mean arrive at 2pm?

Got one tomorrow and don't want to be late.

I would assume that it meant the wedding service starts at 2pm, and I'd aim to arrive at least fifteen minutes before.

Thanks for the responses. I went with a combination of Wilkie's and Philpub's suggestions. We got to the venue for 1.40 and as there was a bar there we then got a drink and waited to be told to go through for the ceremony.

Somehow have avoided the hangover I deserve today thankfully as we now have a five hour drive home.
