are you the same size by measurement though?
10/04/2006 at 19:58
To be honest I haven't measured, I do feel firmer but it is very frustrating. I was told that when I do more miles the weight will drop off as long as I am careful with my eating.
10/04/2006 at 20:00
it doesnt for all of us
also-one tends to eat a bit more without relising-running makes you hungry

gill you sound like me
about 15-20m a week
I'm a tad slower at about 12mm pace
2st over .. well was
I joined WW ... no it's not designed for runners and doesn't really suit long runs but at our mileage it does work
it also makes you realise portion control and notice snacks more
there is a thread on beginners called For Me .... that is for dieters and a lot of ww people on there.
why not ask for advice
I also thought that 15-20m a week and it would drop but at 100 cals per 1m that's only 1500-2000 cals used up and 1lb of fat is 3500cals so you do need to watch your intake too!
But stick with it!

Thanks I need to get a grip cause I know that extra weight chugging round is slowing me down!

I'm at least half a stone lighter than Jan and did a half PB yesterday despite very little training
I know I maintained CV fitness with swimming but I do think the weight lose helped too!
10/04/2006 at 20:13
well it does
even 30 mpw didnt help me lose anty weight
mind you
i am a pig

I think it's all water loss as have been injured with shin splints. Am doing plenty of walking and think I might get out on my bike. I am trying to 'listen to my body' and cut out excessive eating. Still as flabby as ever... My clothes are comfortable again though, which is a bonus.

Will this be slowing my metabolism down? Will it be ok as I slowly pick the running back up?? Is my body just returning to 'set point' (if there is such a thing) after 6 months of excessive eating?!

PS... I am not on a 'diet' (don't belive in them, as everything you eat is YOUR diet) and probably averaging about 1800kcal each day over the course of a week...

goodness. Anyone would think you'd run non-stop for 12 hours at the weekend or something.
16/04/2006 at 11:01
Stayed the same which I'm okay with after this week. Feeling motivated & the running is going well so target of 2lb off next week.
